I haven't seen anything else about the dating one. That's the one I thought would be kinda funny. This is the one where the gay guys "fix up" a straight guy. It's called "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy". It starts Tuesday, April 15th. The banner for it reads:
"Five gay guys out to make over the world....One str8 guy at a time"
http://www.bravotv.com/Queer_Eye_for_the_Straight_Guy/About.shtml

I kinda think Kyan is cute. He's the hair guy.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about a show like this. It appears to be funny but yet it just seems to paint an even wider dividing line between THEM and us.It just seems to be poking fun at the "team". I'll watch it and see. Oh, and the first str8 guy they makeover is named Butch. Not kidding!!

There's a new word that's been coined "metrosexual" meaning guys that like women but also like to look good and enjoy being pampered and doing domestic stuff. Why not just be "omnisexual" and be done with it?

Really getting into it

about widening the gap. It saddens me when the serious gay activists don't seem to really care what others think, since that's really the problem they're trying to combat. I believe most of us have so much in common and it really only takes a little open-mindedness to put yourself in the other guy's shoes, even if you think he is "wrong", you could try to understand his/her position, which might also help you help them.

I certainly agree that a sense of style or fashion isn't necessarily relevant to sexual orientation (or lack thereof) - does just seem to enforce the stereotype. But maybe those who have come to accept their sexuality have also been open enough to accept their non-traditional talents? Just a thought. Unfortunately, nobody would watch a boring show about a typical happy gay couple, I suppose.

I thought it would play more on stereotypes and certainly there was some of that going on. But it didn't seem to be the point of the show. Instead they just seemed to be having fun, especially the straight guy. He seemed to enjoy it even more than the gay guys. It didn't seem to matter that he had five queers pawing at him or that they were watching him change clothes, bathe, etc. He just seemed to like getting the attention. That more than anything seemed to be the point of the show, gays and startights can interact and have fun and the straight guy didn't have to feel intimidated. It was quite entertaining, though it will probably get old rather quickly.

The other show smith was talking about premieres July 29. It's a dating show called Boy Meets Boy. Here's a link. http://www.bravotv.com/Boy_Meets_Boy/

That's what I thought......The str8 guy wasn't feeling at all intimidated or weird. He was having a great time. I know that the stereotypes had to come into play. I mean, who would want to see me dry someone's hair ::haha:: They had to play it that way to live up to the name of the show, I guess. But, you're right, I won't watch it again.

Here's a picture of the guys on that other show and a bit of an article. Boy Meets Boy.....seems they're already having some problems and it hasn't even been shown.

late to worry about what your mother will say Smile

I'll probably watch it again because it was fun, but they'll have to come up with new innovations if I watch it more than a few times otherwise I'll get bored. How many times can five gay guys makeover Godzilla without becoming boring? But for now, Jai is cute enough to keep me interested.

The article you posted for Boy Meets Boy makes it sound like that show won't be as positive. It sounds like the participants were offended by the fact that some guys were straight and they weren't told.

Think good thoughts,
