I just got done watching a TV program called "The 100 Most Irresistible Women". I have to say though, I agreed with some of their picks. But that's besides the point, hehe!

But it got me thinking...what if we were to have a countdown of our own, here on the MB? We'd countdown our most irresistable movie stars, singers, sport starts, and all around cuties! Smile I think it would be fun and interesting just to see what the results would be like! Here's how this thing would go down...

After speaking to Lenny about it (thanks, Lenny!), we decided that having two rounds would be best. The first round is the nomination round, where you all can send a list of up to 20 of your favorite cuties, hunks, or what have you. You're not required to send 20...heck, you can send only 1 name in if you wish, but 20 is the maximum. (I know that's tough for some of you, but deal! Very Happy)

After the nomination round, I'll post the names of every guy that has been nominated and then you can pick your favorites from that list, and then the final countdown will be formed. Personally, I'm intrigued to find out who will win!

But, we need your help in order for this to be a success! Just send your list of nominees to my e-mail address, PriceKid73@aol.com, and in about a week I'll post the final ballot. Please don't post your list to the MB, though, or else I can't count it. Plus, we wouldn't want anyone swayed by other people's lists. Smile

Hope you guys think this is a good idea! I think we could produce some yummy results. Don't you? Smile

My list will be coming soon, Tommy...it should be fun, for sure.

Can the list include cuties from the past, too, or only current ones?
Me and Tom discussed this...  [message #12449 is a reply to message #12442] Sun, 13 July 2003 08:53 Go to previous messageGo to next message

When we get to the final list, get me PICS and I will create a BALLOT page on the site.

You need to decide whether we can vote for only one, or whether we can vote for several.

OK, Tom, Lenny. If you can accept that the nomination process will take at leats a week, then we can create a suberb ballot page. If you ask megaman nicely he may EVEN create a two stage ballot where the total list is shown for "primary votes" and it then switches to "full ballot" for the finalists on a certain date/time. Only we need at least the week to do it once you work out for sure what you want.

Important at this stage is single versus multiple votes for EACH stage of the ballot. I'd love to have been able to automate the nomination process too, and we could have if we'd known in advance! Maybe we can make it an annual event!

Now, think through what you both want, and make sure that it doesn't change from the time you tell me and megaman to the time it gets implemented. I think we definitely need pics for each nominee.

We still could automate the nominations if you wish. We could push back voting a few days, plus, it might give everyone a little time to think of their votes (cause I've heard a lot of people are having trouble picking their 20 Smile). But, if you think that it makes things easier, we could automate everything, I would have no problem with it.

Thanks sooo much for all the help though, I really appretiate it! Smile

P.S. - An annual thing could be pretty damn cool, too, hehe.

This time around I suggest you ask megaman if the nominations could be automated. His address is at the foot of this page. But I think it's too late for that. It needs a set of forms and a driver to be built. Let's carry on as we are for now, especially since people have started.

What we'll need are thumbnail and full size pics of the nominees, too.

Not the nominations. Sorry. That is for next time. But we are definitely automating the voting.

One thing we need is a picture for each nomination you send. Actually we want two pictures. One is full size, the other is a thumbnail. The full size filename must be the celeb's name, with NO spaces or special characters, and may be a .gif or a .jpg file

It must be easily visible in a web page and must be no more that 60KB

The thumbnail must be exactly 75 pixels wide, same filename as the fullsize pic, except it must have an extra letter, a "t" before the dot to signify that it is a thumbnail. These pics must be sent to TomS within or immediately after the nominations. Be kind to his bandwidth. If sending lots of nominations through, talk to him first, and ask him how he wants them to arrive. He and I may talk about a special email account for this anyway

I think finding all these pictures will take us more than a week to do, so the nomination process will go on indefinitely until we have a good size list and until most people send in their ballots.

Yes, Timmy, please let me know about a e-mail address for this. Thanks!

I think the nominator has the duty to find the pic! I'll sort out an email address oyu can check on the web and by your regualr client, OR you can tell people to send pics to one address and nominations to you. The email address for the pictures at least is nominate@iomfats.org.

Over you you, Tom, to sort out what is sent where, and yto make ot clear to people. I'll send you details on how to check that email address
