Hey y'all, TomS here.

Timmy's been nice enough to lend a new e-mail address for the nominations process. The new address you can send your nominations to is nominate@iomfats.org.

Timmy has also said that it would be nice to include pictures of your nominees. However, if you send the pictures to me, I will gladly make thumbnails so that you guys don't have to. I'll repeat what Timmy said about pictures:

"One thing we need is a picture for each nomination you send. The full size filename must be the celeb's name, with NO spaces or special characters, and may be a .gif or a .jpg file

It must be easily visible in a web page and must be no more than 60KB"

You can send the nominations (and the pictures!), once again, to nominate@iomfats.org. You do not need to resend your nominations to me, unless you haven't included pictures (although, are you sure that's your ballot, smith? Smile hehe). The nomination process will probably continue for at least another week, possibly two. And then we'll begin to narrow down our choices!

And, of course, you need not 20 nominees...that's the max! Just even one name to add to the list will suffice. Smile

Thanks for voting and keep the ballots coming!

-Tom Wink

... some of the all-time Male "Female Impersonators".

Notably, I can think of an extremely young David "Bowie" appearing at a 1960's Royal Command Performance featuring Judy Garland in one of her last public appearances just shortly before her death, whereby Bowie entered from stage-left, whilst Garland came from stage-right, and no-one in the audience could tell who was who.

It was simply awesome to behold. Today's youth have no idea how Bowie got his start; nor, how brilliant a performer as a teenager he truly was.

Another worthy of note was a chap named Jim "Bailey". For more than 10-years, during the late 1970's and early 1980's, he held crowds in Las Vegas simply spell-bound with his "One-Women" shows. His Streisand is unbelievable!

Then of course one could, and should, include actor Jim "Davidson" to this mix. He, as a youth could nmore than hold his own, in the company of the other two.

What defines these few, and a couple of others, is that they performed using their own voices, mimicing that of their alter-egos, and not lyp-syncing to recorded tracks, as is the usual fare with most drag-shows.

All three mentioned here were, and are, particularly masculine men in their own right, with their adopting feminine characteristics to suit their moods (as with Bowie) or needs as with Bailey and Davidson.

Making real progress. A pair of ballot pages are designed, and the polling engine is pretty much finished. I need to design the results pages, and the nominations need to roll in to TomS at nominate@iomfats.org WITH pictures of less than 60kb in .jpg or .gif formats.

DON'T make him search for pictures. That's just unfair. Don't rely on someone else to nominate people and find pics either. DO rememebr that all ethnicities are gorgeous, and thatugly people exist in all as well. ANY visitor here may nominate. We don't care who you are. And the poll will be WIDE open to the web, too.

Tom's going to create thumbnails 75 pixels HIGH, and we will have something rather splendid to show you soon. Only it won't be unveiled until all the nominations are in.

We have about 50 pictures so far uploaded to the page thatyou will not yet be able to see. Some overlapping nomninations, which is good. I think we may have a further 30 or so to go. And that means there is LOADS of space for more.

Nominations will not close until Tom sets a date for it, and I threw the whole thing open to my mailing list as well, so we may have the very BEST survey on the web.

What I can see so far is a predominately youthful list. Very few non teenagers. Well except one guy who is about 2,000 years old. And no "non whites" yet either, which is disappointing. NO, David, you may NOT nominate Man! I'm rather pleased that there are no "babes in arms", though I am content to post younger pics. There wil be a "does not condone" banner on the poll header anyway.

Near nudity is fine. Nudity per se will be censored by cropping the pic to remove the offending area. There are already a couple of artistic poses.

OK, Tom, back over to you.

So far, the amount of nominations has been astounding. Thanks for all your support! Plus, with the mailing list involved, we have appeal to a larger audience, as well.

The nomination process will come to an end on July 31, 2003. That is the final day you will be able to send in nominations and pictures.

Starting August 1, 2003 (assuming that everything goes off without a hitch!), the voting process shall begin. You will be able to pick your favorites from the list of nominees. After 15 days, the list will be whittled down to those with the most votes, and a second round of voting will commence to determine the final "Hot 20". That will also last 15 days. So, by the end of August, we will have our list!

Once again, thanks for your continuing participation, and keep those nominations coming!

Timezone is UK time. So, midnight UK time, July 31st is the last date Tom will accept a nomination.

It takes him a little time to create thumbnails and me a little time to get them into the database. With luck this will be complete on 1 August. Then the voting starts. And you will get ONE GO in each round. Precisley 15 days (to the minute if we use software) after the first round starts it will end and the second round will start.

20 guys will go forward to round 2.

Of course, if there is a tie for position 20 then we have to move more in Smile

Then the absolute victor will be declared (and voting locked out) 15 days precisely after that.

I wonder if we'll keep you in suspense over the running order in the second round, or let you see. ~giggles~
