The mistake was in saying that I would not change my mind.
What I meant was that I was not amenable to persuasion by others.
I live by some very simple rules of trust. I choose to believe that a person may break my trust the first time by accident. I have always said that I forgive the first breach of trust provided an apology is given freely. The second breach of trust, apology or not is final.
I would like you all to know that I have received a simple and full apology, and that someone we know will return here. No flags to be waved, no hackles to be raised. Just a simple welcome home, and we go about our business again, gently, quietly and companionably.
If he will teach us patiently then we have much to learn from him. And we owe him patience in return. I simply want to remind us all of the rules of netiquette we employ here.
