Now I know this is not what you meant.
Take the vacation, in reality or in your head. Have the vacation summer romance, and write the story. Decent flowing dialogue, spoken language, not formal English. Make it real and live. And submit it.
So, maybe you have never written before. So what? We all start from that place. So risk it. I challenge you. I know you are not one to pass up a challenge.
If you (or anyone) want hints or tips on how, ask ANY author here. Maybe post a snippet of dialogue and ask how it could be improved. Take ONLY the advice you choose, but LISTEN to all of it and ask questions until you are sure you understand it.
Make it somewhwere you know, and make it live. I challenge you.
