Not for enhancements. Place ALL problem reports here, with as much description as you can manage about what happened and how. If we can't reproduce it we can't fix it.

Not sure wether the logout is triggered by closing the web browser window I used when I last logged in or not. Sometimes I visit, and then I'm still logged in even though hours has passed. Other times I'm logged out despite not too much time having passed.

Also, my name's listed as "lenny", and I want to be "Lenny"...

The reply popup window is smaller than the gadgets it has to contain.

Other than that, I haven't really noticed anything. Things don't look or work quite the way I'm used to, but it's just a matter of adjustment. I can do it, I know it. Smile

Just click on the Profile button (you need to be logged in) and edit your Full name.

Your userid will stay in lower case, but I'm not sure that matters much.

The "being logged in" status is saved in a cookie in your web browser. so if the behaviour is odd it is most likely due to your browser. maybe you have it configured to delete cookies after a while or not to accept them at all.

seems to work fine for everyone else.
if anyone can find that setting in IE .....  [message #13782 is a reply to message #13779] Sat, 30 August 2003 13:00 Go to previous messageGo to next message

the cookie with the authentication info was only kept until session end. now it's set to expire a month after login. quitting IE should not log you out anymore now.

"new" flag not turing off in all cases  [message #13854 is a reply to message #13745] Sun, 31 August 2003 21:08 Go to previous messageGo to next message

A thread exists with multiple replies, all not marked as "new", but the final reply is flagged as "new"

Start several replues above the "new" post and use "next message" to travel to it. The new flag is not unset for the message when you view it, nor when "back to forum" is pressed.

This may also be true for messages passed through alone the way, but I have not checked that.

when it passes "through" other "new" threads in this manner it turns "new" off as it LEAVES the thread, not as it enters. Since the last thread on the list is never "left" its flag remains on

If I click "Expand all Threads" and then click refresh, then some of the threads collapse again.

I haven't been able to work out any logic to this. Most threads stay expanded, but some don't.

It would be useful to have an option which keeps all threads permanently expanded unless or until I collapse them, either individually or globally.
The logic is  [message #13893 is a reply to message #13889] Mon, 01 September 2003 20:14 Go to previous messageGo to next message

Or should be that a thread with a NEW post in it will remain expanded, and those with only old posts willclose up. This saves dialup bandwidth. Though it could be argued that those with broadband do not need it.

Mind you it also saves server level bandwdth, which, though low cost, is a good thing to save

you are already registered as "spunky frog". you can use the "forgot password" link with that ID and you will get a new password, and also change the displayed name to "oliver" in your profile later.

This is weird... I've got 2 threads that won't expand when they get new messages. 'help' by thirfencepost and 'I was just wondering' by M. All the other threads seem to expand when they've got new messages and I reload the frontpage, but not these 2. And if I expand all threads and reload the frontpage they get collapsed again, even though they still have new messages. Confused??

try to click the "mark all read" link at the top of the list. maybe this cures it. but I admit it shouldn't happen in the first place.

to duplicate this:
  1. make a post and preview it without posting
  2. in the preview window press "reply" because you got confused
  3. watch the original post vanish irretirevable before your eyes because there is no way back to it
  4. consider making a reply in case "Submit" posts both posts
  5. swear a lot when the second post appears but not the first
We need to remove buttons like "reply" from the preview layout, I think.
