It works, and most awesomely, too. It just informed me that the new chapter of "Just Hit Send" has been posted (and that's definitely something I'd want to know about as soon as it happens).
From what I've seen of everything (so far, as I haven't had much of a chance to "play" with it), Timmy and Megaman have done their usual most excellent job! I wish I had one-millionth of your talents and abilities!

I'd love to say I had anyting to do with this. It has ALL been our technical guru Megaman.
We have such wonderful freedom since leaving Blue Domino Web Hosting and going with ISPServer. It takes our breath away. And Megaman has been enjoying creating all this new stuff for us to play with.
As I've said before, without him this would be "just another web site". With him, I think it is turning into one of the premier sites of its genre online.
There is much more coming up. And he hasn't told me even a quarter of it yet.
We have our OWN polling engine, mailing list, messageboard, search engine, the lot. And more that I can't even remember. Behind the scenes he has created a huge admin suite so he and I can spot trouble zones early. We know whcih pages are visited and which are not. We can track visitor activity to see popular routes.
Soon we hope to present public stats on story readership "since a certain date" to prove to the authors here that people read their stories.
The Story Contest will require software, too. No dates yet for that. And ALL down to my very good friend in Germany.

Go to profile (very top, right of center) and in the right half of that, you can load a graphic from your PC. This is unlike some where you load a LINK to a website that hosts your graphic. Better, I think, because you don't need a web host to do this.
Confused on the newsfeed myself, bud. If I had to guess I'd say it sends you all the new posts rather than reading them in this forum, but I dunno if that's like UseNet news (that you can use Outlook Express to read) or more like Yahoo Groups that sends it to your e-mail or mebbe something else. Timmy can you elaborate?

A newsfeed is a way of having a pop up window, or in some cases a "ticker" on your pc screen presenting new posts to you. Every (interval you set in minutes) so often it checks for new posts, and the software on your machine lets you know what is going on.
Some newsfeeds can present this to your email client (but the messagebaord will do that by itself if you susbscribe to IT or to a THREAD.
This newsfeed presents the post title, author and summary to a newsfeed client on your pc, which displays the post and in many cases lets you click and open the post directly from there. The one I am recommending (coz I know it works) looks like this on the desktop in expanded form. I can't take a snapshot of its popup form

And they can be turned off. I am pretty sure you can also password them.
It's just a new facility we have created to make this board even more special.
