So I was going to join Vision which is BGSU's undergradute gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, questioning and straight supportive student organization. I thought it would/could be fun, and as an added bonus would look great on a resume by showing that I am an accepting person. (I'm a special education major and I would like to be a teacher that students feel that they can come to) Well I was talking to my mom about it and she went into this whole thing about basically what other people would think because we live in a small town. I know I really don't care what other people think about this. So I basically "let my mom win" by not going to the meeting. Now I'm mad at myself for not going. It's every week so I can still go, but I should have gone.

Do you think it's a bad thing to put on a resume? Times have changed but have they changed enough for that to be considered a positive activity to list.

you may want to ask some employers what their views are and a few teachers YOU TRUST what their opinion is...this could be a can of worms that bites,so you want to be careful how you ask...rob

These organizations are in universities in part as support resources for Gay/Lesbian students. But again they are there for Str8 students with the presence of mind to know and understand that there are indeed Gay/Lesbian people in the world who should not be swept under the carpet because of some provincial attitudes.

Live your own life. I can't do it for you. Your mother can't do it for you either.

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
