The embryo newsfeed that he created with the piece of software you needed to download to run it has been an amazing start. I have that software configured on my home machine and I like it. A lot.

He is about to release a java applet that opens a small, popup window, that you can place anywhere on your screen and be shown when new posts arrive. Current window size is about 1" by 3", and he may well tinker with that to allow you to have different sizes.

The news items (new posts) scroll past at a speed you can set, and you can clear the list out as often as you wish so it always only shows new posts.

There may be a small download procedure you need to go through to get your Java up to date, but he's going to tell us all what to do when he posts the instructions here.

Now I know I've said it before, but this guy is amazing. A great friend, a truly courageous guy, and downright good fun to know.
