If I go nuts and feel like switching back all of a sudden, I can just plug my other harddrive in as primary master and I'll have my totally nutso installation of WinME back again. Of course I'll have to plug it back in again for a while to retrieve all the saved files I got on it, but after that I'll retire that harddrive. The ball races in the spindle motor are about to give up despite that that drive features ceramic bearings (like in the space shuttle's rocket engine turbopumps, heh!), and are meant to be more durable than steel. The whirring has become more frequent and a lot louder the more time passes, so it's time to put this thing out to pasture before it dies and takes all my stories with it!

Right now it's installing a MILLION goddamn security updates! I got the blaster proofing installed first, then rebooted, and now I'm grabbing the rest of them. This will definitely not be finished tonight, lol! I have a million drivers to download and install, good thing about switching to a modern OS is I get fresh versions for everything. Smile

Yes, I know I'm a computer geek, sorry! This probably doesn't interest anyone, but I gotta do something while the harddrive's chugging away (it takes bloody forever for these patches to install!), so I might just as well write a post about it. I had a shower a little while ago after my workout, so I feel really nice and clean, and my hair smells nice (I used conditioner in it). Wish I had someone to cuddle with right now who could feel my nice hair with his fingers, heh heh! Smile

Oh! Time to reboot now, whee! Okies, see ya in a bit then.

HUGS!

I don't think those patches will stop coming anytime soon I'm afraid! Sure WinXP is BETTER than previous efforts, but it's also one big security hole in of itself.

*Makes note to self: do not sit up til 05:30AM even if you reinstall computer*

Hahaha! AS IF I'll listen to anyone, least of all myself! Wink

I hope to have this thing more or less ready for action soon, I'll shut it down in a little bit and plug my old harddrive back in, then grab everything I need off it so I really can retire it. Dang, this thing really IS a lot more quiet now that I plugged it out! Smile Too bad 120GB of capacity isn't going to last me very far... I need more soon I guess. Oh well, I'll worry about it when it happens!

Keep taking care of yourself, you hear?

ick! i'll have to keep an eye out for that one. usually i don't get tripped up, however last year, there was some billing email thing i got conned with, and wound up having to cancel my credit card. :-/

and oh, lenny! do you know that i've been checking "remind me tomorrow" for the past three days on this latest (1 of 34059385) XP security patch? hehe. i wonder how long i can put it off, hmmm.... some of the patches download real quick, but the last one i did was 4 different patches and it took 5 hours. it's insane.

get some sleep and take care!

..."Windows starts to behaving quirkily & making windows hang for no particular reason" while I typed a reply to this post. I hope that was just the result of some odd cosmic ray zipping by or something, because it would suck if my newly installed OS was to make a habit out of it.

I must say I am rather pleased with XP so far. It's a bit annoying in a way that it tries to babysit the user so much in some regards, but it's functionality is very powerful, there's lots of smart functions, things that just plain works much better than back in yucky old winme. Plus, it looks prettier too! Very Happy

I would seriously suggest that you DO keep your virus killer updated if you're going to put off downloading that patch. It won't be 100% effective, because a virus using a security hole might hit you before you download the virus scanner update, but it's better than nothing.

I heard about this new virus a few days ago when it started making the rounds on the web (and heard it was very "popular" due to its high level of fake authenticity. Goes to prove one should be very wary of ANY email with binary attachments...

smith, I DO hope you weren't harmed by this virus. Well, that your computer wasn't anyway, heh heh!

Ok, back to work now with getting my system fully back on-line... Wink Still shi- uh stuff, left to install. Smile

Hugs for both you guys!

i actually did DL that patch earlier today. but in a week there'll be another 4 it wants me to get, hehe!

i wound up resetting my windows XP to "look like" classic windows 98. i kept getting too confused and scared by the big bubbly windows .. although i had the BEST purple/indigo/blue scheme set up ...

good luck with all your installations! Smile

I love smooches! Smile They're the BEST ever.

That's what's annoyed me so much with the guys I've been kissing with, they're like, LOUSY kissers all of them! It's NOT hot and sexy when the other person's kissing you with his mouth so wide open it's like he's trying to bite around your entire head and tickle your tonsils at the same time, eeew yuck!

That's DISGUSTING, lol! I like "man/girl"-like kisses, with mostly lips so you FEEL the kiss. If I just wanted someone's saliva dumped into my mouth, I'd ask them to spit in a glass and give it to me... Eeww. Smile

No, "proper" kisses are so much better in my opinion. (Isn't this a mucn better topic than stupid computers anyway? Smile ) It seems it's difficult to find a man that enjoys proper smooching, I sure haven't succeeded. Input from others on the subject would be nice...! *hint hint to all the silent readers (?)*

Hugs n a smooch back:

And your tongue is to be used for talking, or, giving something back to its donor (wink, wink). I mean, how would your cheek feel if all it got was tongue. Eeeewwww. French kissing has its place, but I also like the traditional, especially from someone I love. Razz

i agree. sloppy-salivating kisses are to be reserved for say, those who have canine's for pets and the like. don't get me wrong, tongue is verrrry okay for a kiss? but like, build up to that. people who dive right in and count your teeth with their tongue a) leave nothing to the imagination, 2) make me feel like either taking a shower or going to brush said teeth, or c) completely ruin the mood, due in no small part to a and 2. ::-)

what's worse is when the person, boy or girl, do not get the hint when you kind of back up with a (barely) lip-parted smile and then sloooooowly lean back in again, to kind of urge them into playing around tastefully.

taste. tastefully? perhaps that pun was intended!

anyway uhm. HEH. okay that's enough, eeeeeee. *dives for cover someplace*

Does anybody remember that "Sex and the City" episode where poor Charlotte is trying to get a new boyfriend not to be like a big sloppy drooly kisser? She tried educating him by saying what she liked, coaching him along, but then suddenly he's all over her face and the next day her lips are swollen, he's been suctioning so hard...all three of the other girls are screaming, "EWWWWW..." through-out...

Hopefull some of the hetero male crowd learned from that...but of course, gays and lesbians make the best kissers and smoochers...

*giggles* never saw that, no, but i don't have any premium movie channels anymore. i tried to be a starving artist for too long, and cable was one of the sacrifices. Very Happy

but you're definitely right: gays and lesbians DO make the best kissers. i think it stems from the base/root of, "no one knows more of what a guy wants than another guy." and the same for girls, and then it goes from there.

unfortunately when you're in the gray area of bi, and thinking one day you need or want something from the guy-spectrum if you're a girl, it's one hell of a shock to the system to find yourself groped after 4 seconds of contact, and bathed in saliva. Surprised

there's no rest ever! like (and hello i can't believe i'm getting into this, but it's midnight, i'm medicated, and darn it, i'm chatty!) i haven't uh .. "had it" in a year and a half, right? and for as many issues that i have about .. "it" .. i also notice some parts of me miss "it." and -- but back to KISSING!!! it's also been a year and a half since i've really, and i mean REALLY been kissed. like seeing stars and not knowing what end is up and what day it is kissed. in a year i have kissed my GF only seven times, and four of those would be kisses that a friend would give another friend. however according to her they were "so intense that she was shaking when it was over" which .. she was, but i thought she was shaking because she was nervous. since that's the line she always tells me AFTER i have flown back home.

so i've had lots of time to mull this topic over! there should be a kissing 101 or something. uhm, or well i suppose in a sense there already IS, i know almost every school has "a spot" both inside and outside on the grounds where kissing 101 has taken place.

i however, just need a kissing refresher's course. i'm sure it'd be like riding a bike -- you can not ride a bike for years, but know just what to do the second you get back on.

Sad) Sad) Sad) are you all sick of me yet?? LOL!! i tried to keep this post making sense, really i did. Razz

I loved your post, girl. It was long and wonderful, I love posts like that. They explain so much. Sorry about the lack of email communication by the way, there's been a lot of work with re-installing my machine. I have SO much junk I need to get back on that harddrive, and it still feels as if I'm only half finished. I found a lot of my old funny pictures by the way, I thought I'd lost them in a previous reformat, but there they were... Sitting right on my harddrive in a forgotten backup folder!

HMMM... Kissing 101... Imagine that!

"Listen up, people", Miss Carmicle yelled, standing in front of the blackboard. Mike came to with a start, his mind had been wandering and now he suddenly had no idea what the old hag had been talking about! "You will pair up two and two, just like I explained, and then go through the exercises calmly and in a proper manner! I will not tolerate any childish or foolish behavior. There will be no groping or such, or you'll answer to the Dean. Is that understood?" Some other boy giggled in a kinda immature manner and Miss Carmicle's icy eyes immediately started scanning the classroom for the perpetrator. "This is an obligatory subject! You will treat this in a serious manner, is that understood?", she barked sharply.

Huh? Pairs? Groping? What's the old bat talking about? Mike was quite confused all of a sudden. 'What class is this anyway?', he thought to himself as he started to frantically search through all his pockets for his schedule as the other students got out of their chairs and started to seek out their partner, a partner they already seemed to know. MAN, it's just the first day after summer break and he's already going to get in trouble!

Now he saw a pattern develop... Boy, girl. Boy, girl. Boy... Girl... ...Except for him that is. He realized he was the odd boy left out!

Miss Carmicle looked at him, a small grin on her face. "Looks like it's going to be you and me, Michael Kensington", she said kinda smugly.

Mike folded up the slightly wrinkled schedule, and his face paled. Oh no. This was NOT happening! Not with Miss Carmicle! He saw her lick her much too lipsticky lips and start to walk down to the back row where he was sitting! He tensed up, considering briefly to just get up and run away, but Miss Carmicle would probably grab him and, and force herself upon his virgin flesh or something...!

Suddenly the door to the classroom burst open, making everybody's heads turn, including the teacher with her greying bun of hair at the back of her sinewy neck. In almost tumbled another boy, his plaid green-and-blue shirt unbuttoned and wafting around him, backpack bouncing behind him! He stopped immediately as he saw all the other faces focused straight onto him. "Uhh... Sorry I'm late...", he said sheepishly, his face starting to blush. "I'm new in town, I... Uh, I couldn't find, um, the school... The classroom?"

"Never mind that", Miss Carmicle interrupted, not interested in his excuses. "You're Robin Lefler?"

The new boy nodded. "Uh, yes Ma'am. That's right."

The teacher seemed somewhat disappointed as she noted in her papers the arrival of the new student. "I was hoping you'd be a girl", she mused. "...So we'd have an even number of pairs." She got up out of her seat. "Very well, this will have to do. Join Mr. Kensington down in the corner there. You know what to do, right?"

"Yes Ma'am." Robin turned to look. He blushed, seeing another boy sitting right by the windows, an empty seat next to him. A giggle came from parts of the class, making Miss Carmicle frown again.

"I'm sure Michael and Robin are equally uncomfortable with the current situation", she growled to the class. "Let's not make it any worse for them shall we?", then turned to the new student. "It cannot be helped", she explained to Robin. "Now go on, don't just stand there!"

Mike saw the other boy approach, he was suddenly so nervous his palms were all sweaty. In fact, much of his entire body seemed clammy all of a sudden, and he noticed his hands were shaking. The new student approached, he'd made no move to tuck in his flanell shirt into his baggy dark-blue Wu Tang Clan jeans, making his black T-shirt with a rapper print on it show through. The boy had a slim build with kinda long, straight mouse-brown hair (much in contrast to Mike's almost black semi-curls), hair that suddenly seemed soft and inviting somehow. Mike jerked at his odd thought, unable to understand why he was thinking such thoughts! Why was he suddenly all sweaty and shaking at the prospect of kissing another boy?!

"Uh... I was told...", the new student said hesitantly, now standing almost right next to the still sitting Mike.

Mike jerked again! "Oh, sorry", he said quickly and removed his own backpack from the unclaimed seat and leaned it against the wall next to his chair, then he stood up, holding out his hand (that he'd discreetly - he hoped - wiped off on his own comfort-fit Levis). "I'm Michael", he said, trying to sound confident but it came out more like a croak. "Most people call me Mike though", he said and blushed rather badly.

Robin tried to smile as he hesitantly grasped the other boy's handshake in a light grip. Mike couldn't help himself, he was staring into the other boy's eyes, they were a pale blue in color, and his skin was kinda pale too and smooth. Robin had a rather narrow face with maybe not hollow, but definitely not full cheeks, again in contrast to Mike which had a wider face that was more rounded overall. He also noticed the other boy had a mole above and a little to the right of the right corner of his mouth, and he wore a silver chain around his neck and a stud with a sparkly stone in his left ear. "Pleased to meet you", the boy croaked back in an even gravellier voice, then blushed as he tried to clear his throat, succeeding only partly. "I'm, uh, well I'm Robin, but you already knew that, right?" Mike nodded, hearing the nervousness in the other's speech and relaxing just a little since they seemed to be equally affected.

They tried to let go, but their hands still hung on to each other, just their fingers grasping each other as Miss Carmicle was explaining stuff and the students were following her directions.

Miss Carmicle's voice raised itself above the others. "Situation one, the date", she growled, making what's supposed to be something romantic sound like a boring chore. No wonder the woman was still unmarried! "Assume position one; 'first attempt'. The male will hold the female in a light grip with his right hand on her lower back. NOT further down, on her BACK!" She paused to stare down some giggles. "The left hand he will hold on her right side of her back. His right, not her right. He will NOT hold her on her neck; that is position three." Mike was barely aware their fingers still hung on to each other.

The two boys fumbled very awkwardly, blushing furiously, not really knowing who should do what. Suddenly Robin yielded and just let his hands hang straight down. "You go ahead", he said in almost a whisper, his face again turning a bright red. Maybe it was because Robin was clearly shorter than Mike, not by much for sure, but definitely shorter. It seemed to make them both calmer now that they had a valid excuse to decide who was going to play the role of the female, so Mike was able to grip the other boy the way he was supposed to. Robin really did feel almost like a bird in his hands, Mike thought to himself, so slender and willowy, and somehow his hands had ended up in under the other boy's shirt and not on top of it, so he felt the shape of that slim body clearly, and also the intense warmth of it...

"The female will put her hands on the male's waist", Miss Carmicle directed. She will then lean her head slightly backwards with her face turned towards the male and-"

"Uh, Miss Carmicle?", a girl's voice interrupted. "What should we do...?" The entire classroom broke out in intense laughter as all the kids realized what was going on! Kenny had ended up with Susan, the tallest girl of the class, and Kenny wasn't exactly Michael Jordan-height himself either! Even more laughter ripped through the crowd when Susan gripped Kenny in the male position and he squirmed away, blushing at least as bad as Mike and Robin had!

"Oh for God's sakes!", Miss Carmicle growled. "Order! ORDER in the classroom I say! Go back to position one, all of you!" She took some textbooks from her desk and gave it to Kenny whom immediately got the hint. More laughs ensued as he climbed up on top of the stack and hence became taller than Susan all of a sudden, but Miss Carmicle did nothing to stem them. She even grinned slightly herself, though hiding it with the sheaf of instruction papers she held in one of her hands.

Mike and Robin turned back towards each other. Robin put his hands on Mike's hips, hips that weren't quite as slim as Robin's, and Mike was painfully aware of that. He was a bit of a couch potato, and he liked snacks, hence he weighed a little bit more than he should perhaps, but Robin just smiled comfortingly and looked up into Mike's eyes, letting his hands hold on in a way that was just right... Suddenly Mike smiled too, and his hands glided in under the other boy's open shirt. They pulled in close without even needing Miss Carmicle telling them to do so, making both of them feel the warmth of the other with not just their hands and arms. They definitely weren't the same height, yet the difference wasn't that big either, again it seemed just right. Robin had to raise his chin a bit, and Mike leaned his head forwards a little, Robin's arms snaked around Mike's waist to embrace him fully.

Their eyes locked on each other... Noses brushed, lips touched.

Mike jerked as the bell rang loudly, sounding jarring and off-key in the boy's ears.

"Alright class!", Miss Carmicle yelled over the din created by chairs dragging across the floor as people got up, feet scraping, books slamming shut, people getting ready to fuck off as quickly as possible now that school was finally over for the day. "If you're smart, you'll finish the chapter on volume and area calculations as quickly as possible because there WILL be a quiz come next monday, else you have that to look forwards to and preoccupy yourselves with during the weekend!"

Complaints of, "aaw, maan!", and "geez!" and such were heard from various people, but only in voices so low Miss Carmicle couldn't possibly hear them. Mike sighed, remembering his daydream so clearly... It was as if it really HAD happened!

"You wanna come home to my place?", a voice spoke all of a sudden from his right. Mike jerked yet again, his head whipping around. "Oh! Sorry, I didn't mean to startle you", the same voice spoke apologetically, then giggled boyishly. "We could study, I can help you with your maths. I saw you didn't do much in class today, so if you think this is difficult I could give you a hand..."

Mike found himself smiling at the other boy. "Uh... Yeah, Robin. I'd really like that."

Robin smiled slightly, in a friendly way. "Okay. Good! Let's just go get our junk stowed in our lockers and I'll meet you outside the main entrance, okay?"

"Okay."

Robin smiled again, then reached out with a small hand and patted Mike briefly on his arm. "Thanks... It's nice to have a friend when you're new in town."

Mike blushed as red as a tomato! "I'm your FRIEND?", he asked, feeling very surprised.

"Yes, now you are", came Robin's shy reply, along with another faint smile.

With that, they set off, walking with quick, determined steps out of the classroom to get to their lockers and back outside again as quickly as possible! Neither wanted to waste a single moment more than neccessary...

No, it's not something I had lying about, I wrote it now, in about an hour. Just a little something, an idea sparked by Misplaced's post. Funny what can happen from just two little words. Smile

It could still use some editing I see but I didn't want to spend TOO much time on it. Just get it out as quickly as possible, in roughly the way and order it came to me in my mind...

Know that I wrote it just for YOU, and I'm really glad you liked it, and I am glad you liked it too, Setras and Saben (though don't flip me the bird like that in your IMs or I get kinda confused, you know what I'm saying?)... If anyone else liked it, please let me know okay? Smile

Hope you had a calm, yet interesting night's sleep, as opposed to a nightmarish yet interesting night filled with giant spiders demanding you do 720s or else get eaten! Smile

Take care today, and don't smoke alright? Smile

A hug and a lil smooch in return.

Wink Hehe, just kidding... Thanks!

I don't know if there will be a continuation. You can like, think up one just for yourself - because I guess we all know Mike and Robin won't just STUDY together, hahaha! Smile Anyway, I spent some time buffing it up and if Timmy says he likes it I might send it to him.

Anyway, take care... Thanks again for the compliment! Smile

i said where you re-posted the story just what i thought, but here's extra "YAY THAT WAS GREAT!" for you over here, too. Smile

i had a very good night's sleep, if not induced, and very surreal dreams. i woke up to find an email from someone i thought i'd lost. i didn't believe it was really there so i went back to sleep, thinking "if it's still there when i wake BACK up, then i will open it." it was.

i think i touched on this person in one of my angstier posts -- soon as i get through reading/replying to things here, i'm going to post about it, because i'm faced with a decision and oh man, is it a hard one. but i have to choose carefully. it's very exhilirating. i've been smiling all day, and then to see your story!!!! gosh what an AWESOME DAY, you're the best!

how are you? how are the computer things going? say, you know if you'd like (and you don't have to, i'm just throwing this out here instead of emailing, since i have this screen open), you can IM me sometime if you'd like! Smile IM = stellarfusion. i'm on way more than i should be, until classes start. my laptop has become a body part, it's true.

you'll be happy to know that i have smoked 9 cigarettes LESS than usual. i'm cutting down a little more every two days. soon it will be zero, right???!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

take care of you, lenny!!

I'm very proud of you! It's great to hear you're really going to do this, it makes me smile on the inside (because you're cute, and I wouldn't want those nasty free radicals in the smoke make you all wrinkly and sagging n stuff. Smile ), and also because you liked my story... :-*

I know what it's like to get an email from a person I thought I'd lost. I have a Brother in Spirit, but again I haven't heard from him in like forever... I hope he is okay. I hope he's feeling better now than he did then... I think of him with a lot of fondness and hope.

Soon bedtime for me again, I will go have a shower in a bit and then it's nighty-night.

Happy you're taking care of yourself. Continue with that, please. Smile

Wjhen I was a kid I used to think that the US breakfast cereal "Grape Nuts" were really grape seeds...and then couldn't understand why grape seeds tasted yucky...hehe

I liked the story snippet too, by the way...VERY glad to see somebody writing, when I haven't really gotten jump-started yet myself...
