Think of the last three times you smiled. What was it that made you smile?

approx. an hour or so ago: rich's speculation on something or someone or other or another. ehehe!

half-hour or so ago: shiloh deliberately sprayed me with shower water, thusly rendering me a drenched rat.

30 seconds ago: typing out what made me smile an hour or so ago. hee!

This morning when I woke up (after brushing my teeth and answering the call of nature. hehe) I looked at Gehngis and she started wagging her tail like she was putting out a fire.

Last night I got a call from my Mom reminding me to stop by Grandmas house with some batteries for her new monitor. (She has a new blood pressure monitor that she has to use everyday now, it takes batteries) Just before she hung up, she said, "I love you son". Of course I replied with "I love you too mama".

Yesterday Shadow (my kitten) walked up to Gehngis and rubbed herself against her about five times then sat dow so they had their heads right next to each other, they were just so cute.

Have another smile today,

Kevin

This post - the one that caused me to answer. Reading it.

The person I love most.

And, an odd smile, thinking that today is near enough the 24 month anniversary of my being free of the obsessive feelings I had for the boy I fell for all those years ago

we're all going to have sore little cheeks by the end of this thread, because that spawned ME to smile, as did timmy's smile-reasons, and i'm sure i look completely silly with perma-grin on my face. ;-D

I got another three from Timmys post in the 'Just for Yucks' thread. That was twisted. I am even laughing out loud right now, making it hard to type.

Thanks sweet man,

Kevin ;-D

Oh I must have ROFL at least three times last night when Girl and I talked about the difrence between girl and boys bathrooms and what and how back in high school. Like how in the boys bathroom it always seemed that boys tried to be as loud as possible and every so often you would also get that long satisfyeng sigh of relief. Razz well it was all pretty funny at the time anyway ::-)

The first waaay too early, kind of a sideways smile at 6am as Man stumbled around in the dark trying to get ready for school withoutr waking me up...

The second when I took my first cup of coffee out onto our verandah to watch and listen to the rain storm in our garden...

And the third reading this MB now, seeing that the storm clouds might be lifting here after such a long time!

...because I usually feel like such a grumpy guy that I can't even remember my smiles for very long, but a special someone asked me to, so I'll comply. Not because I'm forced to, but because I want to...

I could wimp out and say at least two of those three last times were reading posts this person made, but that wouldn't be fair I think. I will instead try to appease the spirit of this thread by telling of three times I smiled today, although neither of them being the first or the last smiles I had today.

First one was when I went outside to buy some lunch, which was bread and milk in this case. I went outside, and after walking out of the interconnecting tunnel between two of the buildings in my apartement complex I saw a little girl and her mother by a bicycle stand, the mother either locking or unlocking her bike I think. The girl was probably around five years old and had black wavy hair and such big, beautiful black eyes too. I looked at her pretty eyes and she looked back, following my eyes with her own.

That made me smile...

It is fun looking into the eyes of kids, I'm usually too shy to let older people see me do it (I guess most of us are), but it's okay with kids because they haven't been conditioned yet to keep their eyes to themselves. What's really funny too is when you look at a kid and the kid thinks that since that man's looking at me it must mean I know him, so what is the natural reaction of any well-brought-up boy or girl? What's the first word that will pop out of that little child's mouth?

Why, "Hello", of course!

So quite often they do, and that too makes me smile. It didn't happen this time, but often it does.

Another smile happened when I was about halfway to my destination on my way making an errand. It's a walk of maybe twenty or thirty minutes total perhaps. It's been a partly clouded and overcast day today, but with gaps too so the sun can shine through. Well, to cut this explanation short, I suddenly found it started raining. Out of nowhere!

It was only a light rain with small, sparsely spaced drops that seemed to almost float towards the ground. It lasted for less than a minute, and then it stopped, all evidence of it ever happening were some dark spots on the street where I walked... Weird, there was barely any clouds above me! Just a small cover of light-grey fluff pretty far up in the sky... A bit further along it started raining again while I was passing through a small tunnel over which tram-tracks go by. The rain was more intense this time as I moved into a residential neighborhood with many neat single-family homes, but there was even more sunlight at the same time along with the rain, so I could see every drop clearly as it came down towards the ground!

That also made me smile, because it was a warm and HAPPY rain.

The third smile was a lot less complicated. I had done my errand and went past a football field (the REAL kind of football, the one you actually play with your FEET, pbbbllt! Smile ), and there were kids out there enjoying themselves, kicking a ball back and forth. I'd passed the same place before on my way there, but then it was just three boys playing, and now there were three girls and many more boys, and the girls wore their long hair in ponytails and they were really pretty, and there was this boy there too with really pale blonde hair and long white shorts which fell nicely over his butt because there was a strong wind blowing from behind stretching and pulling at the fabric. Smile

That made me smile as well, seeing them all have fun, playing together...

Then I went home again after going to the mini-market again to buy some more stuff I needed, and on the way back I snapped some pics of where I live and the clouds in the sky and stuff like that. If I ever manage to get my webpage in order, I'll stick 'em up there for you to see... Smile

These are my three smiles that I was encouraged to talk about. Thanks Heathyr, and thanks to Kevin too for starting the thread in the first place!

H ow about we eah just share what made us smile once today. By that I mean everyday.

Today, while picking up my dog from her surgery, a little girl was playing in the waiting room. There is a fireplace that is no longer used and whe was haing a great time jumping on and off the tiny step (about 20mm high). She was wearing her cheap sunglasses upside down and I thought, it'a a female Elton John. made me smile till my baby came out.

That is another story.

Love will find all of you,

Kevin
