Wow, Bob, you sure know how to get somebody's attention with a thread title!
I know 2 people who have had colostomy procedures. There are several types, each differing medically. As I recall, one of them could not have anal sex, and for the other person it was not an issue.
Check out this link for a bunch of on-line message boards and support communities, and post the question there, along with the type of colostomy you had...each different procedure has a name.
The link is at http://www.supportpath.com/sl_o/ostomy.htm
Good luck with your search for information.
Timmy, this is just what you were talking about with the absence of free but professional medical advice websites, huh?

My ex BF is a nurse at a Major hospital (intensive care), also his father is also having the same procedure this month. I am sure he will be able to help. I will post his answer as soon as I can.
Hope things go the way you want,
Kevin

I was at my medico's office today picking up my meds and though I didn't have a chance then, as it was close to noon and kinda busy,I am going to write them this afternoon about the most up to date info on HIV, Hep and the like
I don't know how much time any of them have to get involved but who knows. These ppl are pretty socially minded I mean after all there is not much glory working with infectious diseases like HIV and Hep.
Anyway it can't hurt to ask and this is a Clinic assosiated with Case Western Reserve University

My friends answer:
The length of healing time required depends largly on the invasiveness of the surgery. You should really check with your doctor who will be well aware of the time you need to heal.
The good news is that eventually you will be able to go back to your favorite past time. (sorry for being a bit cheeky there) ::-)
Hope that helps a little,
Kevin

Logic says that, if the colostomy is still "running" then no faeces are present in the anus and rectal area at all, and that makes it an evem more pleasant act.
There is nothing in anal sex per se that is harmful, unless you have been "tied off" very close to the anus.
Using loads of lube, and gentle experimentation makes sense. So does asking your doctor

As no one here is familiar with the particular procedure you underwent, there is no practical advise that is appropriate.
Your doctor will know for certain and that certainty will make the experience even more pleasurable.
Wish you well,
Marc
Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
