School is a lot more work than I remembered, but this is so much fun as well. We've been working on several potato and egg dishes. Unfortunately, two of the really cute guys in my class dropped out, but the super-cutie, Brandon, is still there. In fact he was moved to my side and I got to work with him yesterday. We talked and got to know each other a bit. Gawd do I wish I were 19 and single again! ;-D ;-D ;-D He told me that he decided to go to Culinary School because he liked the poster on the wall of the guidance office at his high school! What a way to pick a career! It was of our current school and he thought everyone looked like they were having fun. He said he also enjoys cooking, but never really thought of doing it as a career. Anyhow, I don't think he's gay. He spends way too much time flirting with the young ladies. Unfortunately for him, the ones he flirts with are a few years older (mid 20s) and they keep shooting him down.
OK, time to head to class.

It reminds me of my foods 1 class almost.
But... That is a whole seperate matter.
Stragely, the class-cutie in my class is also named Brandon...

I didn't know egg and potato dishes were so important they warranted a whole lesson or more of their own! Hehe, that's cool, what have you guys been doing with your taters and 'cluck-berries' (yes, that's a sort of old, funny way of saying eggs in Swedish heh heh)? If it's not anything too complicated I might even try it myself!
Awesome that Mr. Handsome's still in your class, even if he isn't gay you can still look at, and talk to him of course... That's not so bad! Maybe you even become friends. 
Continue to have fun, I'll be there with you in my thoughts.

Hi Lenny. Potatoes aren't all that important. They're cheap. so the school can afford tons of them. The reason we're doing them is to practice our knife skills. We're graded on them daily. Then of course we've got all these potatoes sitting around, so naturally we get taught how to cook them. I've eaten so many potatoes over the last two weeks that I think I turning Irish. ;-D Anyhow, I've got the strangest craving for some Guinness. Oh, never mind, I've always got the strangest craving for Guinness.
Eggs, on the other hand, are very important in French cooking. I've been told that many French restaraunts audition potential chefs by asking them to prepare a French omlette among other things. Apparently, eggs are serious business in France and learning to prepare them in a variety of ways is essential.
Last night we did more potatoes (of course), tomato sauce, and clam chowder. Chowder isn't exactly a French dish (it's American), but our instructor said it is a good example of a cream soup.
Brandon was our "sous chef" for the evening, which meant that after the chef instructor, he was in charge. The first thing he did was to pick me to assist him in making the stock (always the first task of the evening). He had all kinds of questions about what he was supposed to do and how to be sous chef. I was more than happy to give him all the advice I could. I think he looks up to me a bit. He's kind of like a bouncy, eager little puppy so it was fun to watch him be in charge of all the big dogs. By the end of class I just wanted to take him home and pat him on the head. ;-D ;-D ;-D Maybe I should invite him over and introduce him to my daughter.
