If I have read this right we have two recovering addicts here for sure. No, I'm not going to name names. They may or need not. I just saw one of us had made a very up front post. Another hinted at it more than stringly with the letters of a rehab club in a post ages ago.

There is a tremendous amount they can teach us, if they are willing, about what is not cured by becoming addicted.

I am not using this to make them step onto the stage. Just mentioning it in passing. And it may stay in passing if they wish.

There are many kinds of addictions, and there are many different people recovering from them.... What you ask Tim is not an easy thing.

To those who might give some insight.... But want to remain anonomous all you have to do is LOG OUT and post using another name.

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

suppose it depends on what "it" is being recovered from.. there's drugs and alcohol, yes, but then there's other things, too..

It is a very sensitive topic, though speaking only for myself I am in a step program,as being an ex-boozer for about half my life, the struggle to stay sober is a hard road..What helps is in the sharing of hopes and dreams with others.Part of the step process after maybe a year or two is standing before several hundred people and telling your story..whats really scarey is finding out that there is one that knows you from before. That happened to me about 12 years ago.She then went on to tell others about my wild youth in the small town I grew up in..Oh well, sometimes the past comes up and bites...I get a sense here that some of the kids dont relate well with us ol geezers..We were kids once, been there and done that....rob;-D ;-D
