Well 4 out of 5 ain't bad.
The Library was saved in a very stong vote. Also we have a new Mayor in Royaol Oak (straight, but a good man). In Ferndale the gay member of city council is now the head of the council (the one with the most votes heads the council). In Birmingham we have a gay Mayor (another friend).
Olny my friend Gary (also gay) did not win his council seat, but promised to run again. It was a very close race, less than a 150 vote margin.
So all in all, we had a good day yesterday. Now I am ready for some extra sleep.
Times they are a changin,
Kevin ::-)

The elections were for mayor and local council.
For the first time young people aged 17 had the right to vote in local elections. This seems to have had an effect on the propaganda. During the weekend before the election young people, canvassing (for the candidate who eventually won) handed out free packets of condoms to all the youngsters. The message with the condoms was:
Protect yourself tonight and protect our town next Tuesday: vote for ...

SWEET!!!
People should encourage young and old to vote. Otherwise we have no right to complain.
Hope it went the way you wanted.
