WASHINGTON, DC -- Hang on to any of the new West Virginia quarters if you have them, they may be worth much more than 25 cents. The US Treasury announced it is recalling all of the West Virginia quarters that arepart of its program featuring quarters from each state. The quarters are being issued in the order in which the various states joined the US.

"We are recalling all the new West Virginia quarters that were recently issued," Treasury Undersecretary Jack Shackleford said Wednesday. "This action is being taken after numerous reports that new quarters will not work in parking meters, toll booths, vending machines, pay phones, or other coin- operated devices."

"The problem lies in a design flaw," Shackleford said. The winning design was submitted by a Marshall University student.

"Apparently," Shackleford said, "the duct tape holding the two dimes and nickel together keeps jamming the coin-operated devices."

I guess if one has to ask if it is, it means one did not 'get' it. So yeah, I officially admit that I didn't get it. Quite, anyway. Is it some kind of hillbilly-reference, taping coins together? Smile

Are people from West Virginia particulary gifted in that regard, or do you guys just like to joke about it? Smile

Much in the same way that gays are looked upon as a pyriah to society, people from West Virginia are deemed to be rather stupid.

The 25 cent coin or 1/4 dollar is being reproduced by the US government in limited editions depecting a design fron each of the 50 states.

The joke here was that the design from West Virginia was to tape together 2 dimes and a nickel (2-10 cent pieces and 1-5 cent piece) The coins taped together thus would not fit into the slots of vending machines.

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

Thank God they moved to Ohio and I was born a Buckeye.

I'll bet the next edition of the quarter has the dimes and nickle welded together instead of taped. Very Happy

Think good thoughts,
