It's just another work day here, but a friend and I are going to enjoy turkey at a local 5 star hotel restaurant. YAY!!

How will others here celebrate?

we're having chicken, not turkey. i couldn't find a turkey that i could afford, and i'm not too keen on having to gut the thing. i don't really eat meat, but sort of have to pseudo-eat to make the family happy.

we're also having a vegetable and mashed potatoes. and then a birthday cake. my semi-ex chelsea is coming over, as it's also her birthday, and so we're combining the days. provided shi's dad doesn't call at the last minute, we're going to go out and see 'the cat in the hat' (movie theaters stay open on thanksgiving, i guess) with shiloh.

i really am not to keen on thanksgiving, honestly. yay, we killed a ton of indians but also ate with them. give thanks! you should just give thanks every day, in my opinion.

Grandmom is cooking a standing rib roast instead of turkey this year :-/ I am pouting cause I looooooove turkey sandwiches but Christmas is in 3 weeks so I can have my turkey then.
We always have mashed potatoes (lumpy like I like them), green beans, brussel spouts (gag and die), asparagus casserole (yum), sweet potato pie (super yum) and punkin pie with ice cream. Plus all the other little yum stuff. It's like this huge "eat til you barf" thing.

Okay...this is the funny part. Mama says we have to "dress" for dinner. Blahhhhhh. I'm gonna wear a coat and tie and cutoffs and flipflops. They can't see but the top half at the table, right? So, I will look superstudly. Maybe I'll tie the tie around my head and be the token Indian at the table.

We're having company, friends from church. They have this daughter who is a bothersome icky thing. Mama always says "smith, show Andrea your room". Ewwwwww!! "Here, Andrea, wanna read my new magazines? Wanna watch QAF with me?" She always pokes through my stuff and flirts.

I made the punkin pie Cool Happy Thanksgiving, Everybody !! 24 days until Christmas. I love everything about Christmas from the continual music to the cartoons......everything except the buying. Stuff you don't want, will never use. My Aunt Nina sends me socks. Hahahaha !! We'll get our tree tomorrow.

And there is no better reason to cook than to enjoy the fruits of your labor with good friends and family.

Kevin and I are cooking a turkey with all the fixings and our friend Brian will be here later to help distroy this bird... LOL

There is pleanty more to go around and dinner is at 6:30 so if you are in the neighborhood just drop in and we'll set another place.

Remember, don't eat so much there is no room for dessert.

Did anyone tape the macy's T-Day parade? I dont have cable or satelite and Kevy wanted to see it soooo bad this morning. I told him to go and see it at walmart but he wouldn't do it. LOL

Remember also,,,, PLEASE.... travel safe if you are driving....
