Anyone using hotmail having problms with messages being "wiped" before they are sent?
M$ footers are present, from address is present, but text is notable by its absence. It's not for me, you understand, but for a friend!
Actually it's for smith, who is suddenly plagued by a PC that looks fine, but refuse to do what he wants within Hotmail.
we THINK installing SpyBot had something 2 do with it.

One of my friends in the US has complained about that exact problem forever. He can't trace it to any one computer's software, tho. The same thing happens when he's traveling and using Internet Cafe machines, and even happened when he was using mine last summer. Seemed like a Hotmail problem to him. He complained and got no useful answers, so started using yahoo.
At least yahoo keeps all your typing, even tho they pass dozens of spams all the while...ugh

Hotmail has a big problem working with internet utility programs. I run zone alarm as a firewall and have to deactivate the program before I can use hotmail. I have had the same thing happen to me (loosing the text in the email) but it seems kind of random, doesn't happen all the time.

For a few days, Hotmail has been changing its format or something and it would blink on and off with the new look and then go back to the old.
Then yesterday, the toolbar at the top of the message box disappeared: you know, the one that lets you choose font and size and color?? And my Hotbar with all my smilies quit functioning. I didn't realize my messages weren't going anywhere until I wrote a huge mail to Megaman asking him for help and he replied, "What did you say?"
PLus, my computer seems to have fallen in love with DellNet and put it on here too. I just hate not being able to fix this............Why is it that just when something is doing really good, they go and try to make it "better"?

In this new "improved" version of hotmail, the tool bar takes a long time to load and if you start typing anywhere before it loads the tool bar will not load at all. When this has happened to me, the program will not let me send messages at all.

Maybe there are compatibility issues between Hotbar and the new version of Hotmail.
I am not a fan of Hotbar partly because of concerns about privacy and partly because I found it unstable (even with the old version of Hotmail).
I suggest you uninstall it and see if this fixes the problem. You can do this by running an application like "Ad-aware" by Lavasoft, which you can download free of charge from http://www.lavasoftusa.com.

I never use any internet explorer extention type stuff and usually only download programs that I know the features of and come packaged either on CD or as an exe.
