this just seems way over the top! There's an auction company named Profiles in History that sells movie stuff. Examples:
$126,000 for a Superman suit from the '50s TV show
$46,000 for Arnold's jacket from Terminator 2
$305,000 for Captain Kirk's command chair from Star Trek
$60,000 for Darth Vader's helmet
$57,500 for the Wicker Witch of the West's hat from Wizard of Oz
After you have it, what do you do with it? I have this image of some guy dressed as Captain Kirk with the command chair in his living room, barking orders at his family...."Warp Speed, Mr. Zulu".
I do have an Enterprise and a Clingon Battle Cruiser still hanging from my ceiling with monofilament line........alongside a Millenium Falcon. J ate the head off my Boba Fett ) but I do have Luke and Han and Princess Doughnuthair. Oh yes, a great Star Wars fan I am !! Except for JarJar :-/

$46,000 for Arnie's jacket? Hahaha.
You said when you'd die that you'd walk with me every day
And I'd start to cry and say please don't talk that way
With the blink of an eye the Lord came and asked you to meet
You went to a better place but He stole you away from me

Last Spring I managed to procure a collection of movie still photographs from the american film institute in New York City.
I reciently managed to pull off yet another coup and garnered a few dozen more.
I think when I average everything all out they would come to costing me a little more than thirty cents each.
Friday I discovered (through another collector) that many of them are worth in the vicinity of $600.00 each and some of them even more.
For instance I have the pic where Tom Sawyer was about to sneak a kiss from his Aunt Polly while she was asleep. (Original Movie)
Shots from the prigional Treasure Island. (Original Movie)
A pile from the classic "If".
Dozens from Gone With the Wind.
It just goes to show that if you are in the right place at the right time, do your homework, know your material, there are indeed still treasures out there to be discovered.

3 1/2 inches for 75$?
I don't think there is much that is that short I'd pay $75.00 for.
People are interesting to me.

That's what collecting is all about.
The passion for it has to outweigh the practicality of it.
Not really unlike falling in love.

Yes... I admit,
I have a weakness for Japanese Pop music, and it costs me at least $30.00 for a CD. So I think that I should say the least.
