The following message showed up in my e-mail today, and I thought I’d pass it along in case anybody wanted to participate:

On-line AFA poll for legalization of gay marriage

The American Family Association (believe it or not) is conducting an
online poll regarding the general population's preference for the
legalization of gay marriage. They plan to show their results to
Congress. The AFA opposes gay marriage and it has been said that
perhaps they are conducting the poll because they assume that only
AFA supporters will vote in the poll.

Several alt lifestyle groups, as well as a great deal of GLBT
supporters, are trying to get out the word to alternative
lifestylists, so we can make our voice known when the AFA shows the
poll results to congress.

To take the poll go here: http://www.marriagepoll.com
Please feel free to forward this information on to others who would be
interested in casting their vote.

The results so far are a lot closer than I thought they’d be (considering what a Fascist lot this so-called “American ‘Family’ Association is, you would think that only their own "choir" would be voting); but every vote against them would throw a monkey wrench into their malevolent machinery by showing them that fewer people than they'd like to believe actually buy into their anti-family dogma (that is, of course, if they don't "cook the books" to present what would be for them a "positive" result).

I apologize, Dallas.

It was a "spur of the moment" reaction on my part to make this posting. When I saw it in my e-mail I just posted it here without even thinking to check first to see if anybody else had already done so. However, since I have a feeling that we are "of accord" on this issue, I'm hoping you're not too upset with me (but I apologize, anyway).

Forgive me?

Ron, the poll is a falshood since it was sent out to members that by a 96% margin support a constitutional ban on gay marriage. I don't participate because the results are not an acurate reflection of any population other that the extreme right wing (No offence to the conservatives here, and their are many)

We may not agree on this particular issue or many other monitary policy issues, but I just feel that a right is a right for all people not just straight or rich people. Inclusion not exclusion should be the order of the day.

Love to you all this Holiday Season,

Goodbye,

Kevin

Hi, Kevin.

I hear what you're saying (and you're right). Still, they're providing a way (unintended though it may be) for us to let them know that as much as they'd like to think that everybody believes as they do (or can be made to believe as they do), "it ain't necessarily so". It would be interesting to see if they do publish (and submit to Congress) the results of this survey, and see how "unvarnished" those results are.

I oppose legalization of homosexual marriage and "civil unions"
37.51% (171199 votes)

I favor legalization of homosexual marriage
54.17% (247202 votes)

I favor a "civil union" with the full benefits of marriage except for the name
8.32% (37950 votes)

It will be interesting to see how long they allow this to continue

When I visited, the current results were like 82% against, 16 in favor and the remainder for a civil union thing...

I didn't expect the results to change much from that position. Hopefully the bigots behind the poll will at least feel immensely morally outraged by the current results, hehehe! Smile

OK you've convinced me to take the poll anyhow. Now you must know they will never use this data since it flies in the face of this organizations purpose. I love it!

Gave me a good laugh today.

Thanks,

Kevin

Even so it is not an accurate reflection, but I am quite happy as it nullifies their biased attempts, anyway.
