"We wanted to send out some sort of holiday greeting but it is so difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending someone.
We met with my attorney today, and on his advice we want to say to all of you: Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.
We also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2004, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make America great (not to imply that America is necessarily greater than any other country or is the only "AMERICA" in the western hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, or sexual preference of the wisher.
By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms: This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her/himself or others, and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. This wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year, or until the issuance of a subsequent holiday greeting, whichever comes first, and warranty is limited to replacement of this wish or issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher...
"HAPPY HOLIDAYS"
Thanks to Daylon Walton"
Found it on one of the tech/computer/nerd sites I visit daily (though I've seen it before some past year; still funny though!) If you enjoy reading about computer hardware and related stuff, try 'em out: http://www.hardocp.com/
Hugs to everyone and happy new year again, hehee!

And I wish you the same, unless of course, you wish not to be greeted or well-wished at all. In which case I do not wish you well.
That said, could you please tell us about simon again. I vaguely remember the story, but would like to hear it again and I'm sure there are those among us who have never heard it before.
{{{HUGS}}} if you want them and won't be offended by them and don't think that two guys hugging on a MB will offend others who might see them hug.
Think good thoughts,

The politically correct greeting is a good laugh for me, whenever I see it. Some people get so pissy about good wishes that aren't expressed exactly as they want them to be, that it helps to be able to laugh about it!
I also love the pics you're posting now...the fireworks, the snow in your neighborhood. Are they from your phone camera?
I have some pics to post too, as soon as I can learn how to re-size some huge jpegs to more reasonable downloadable size.
Nice to see the snow, too, Lenny. Even though I deliberately moved to a tropical climate, it would still be nice to have snow for Christmas, if only for a day or two!
This Christmas in Thailand was much cooler than usual. Man was shivering for about 2 weeks. Although it's now warming up again to our usual 28-31 C "Cool Season" temps, for the past half month it was down into the 18-20 C range at night. Not seriously cold for many of you for sure, but Thai's were all wearing coats, gloves, and hats, and being sort of thrilled by freezing their asses off, comparatively speaking.
That's fun to watch, too!::-)
