Well, the good news, that never makes it to page one, is that there's life on Mars. Or elsewhere in the stars. Why? Oh my! Because I'm staring up at the same night sky as you, a thousnad miles away, waiting for your voice to cross the void today and thinking words like "Jinkies!" and "Zoinks!"
Boink!
That's what Tigger's do best, you know, bounce around during the whole show, looking to see what mishchief Pooh is getting into.
There's a charge from the long distance, and I'm not talking about the bill at the end of the month. Energy fills me, transcends me, spills out of me as I try to contain the growl in your smile, the smile in your voice, your voice in my ear as I lay curled under my wolf blanket.
Is it the same for you? I feel like it is, but I can't be sure. I'm doubting my senses, you're past my defenses, I can't block the way your voice makes me quake at times.
I feel your pain, I sense your relief, I swim in your joy and grief. Even when we're not talking, my thoughts drift your way. Magnet to steel, tire to wheel, talent to skill, I find myself drawn in on your every breath and filled with your own aspirations. From a thousand miles away, it's still immediate and potent for me. And I can only think of what you may be doing just this second with the longing of Wish You Were Here, wishing I were there, or that Nightcrawlers could the distance between us bridge.
Is this the way it's supposed to be when you meet the One? Like you're dropped under water yet still swimming in the sun? I just need to know if this glow is you, or me, or us, and hopiung the answer is all three at once.
It's not the wolf you see you should fear, but all the ones he howls with. Don't be afraid of the song, but don't piss off the choir.

that was the best ever! i really liked this one. it's both playful and thoughtful.
and oo, the life on mars thing--my daughter and i squealed about that, and then she asked if, when we redo her room to look like space, we could put the "Spirit" on the surface of mars that'll hang from her ceiling. so exciting!
my other fave part is:
"There's a charge from the long distance, and I'm not talking about the bill at the end of the month. Energy fills me, transcends me, spills out of me as I try to contain the growl in your smile, the smile in your voice, your voice in my ear as I lay curled under my wolf blanket."
for many, many reasons.
my void does not want.
