Welcome to the board, man! Dunno if you've made a formal introduction or if there's been another welcoming thread - if there is one I have to admit I missed it amidst this latest controversy - but no matter what:
Here's one from me.
Again: welcome! I hope you enjoy your stay here, I hope you'll find we're a pretty nice bunch of guys; some in body, some in spirit, and some not guys at all, but just plain nice.
Sincerely:
-L

Hey Lenny! Thanks for the welcome dude! No i didn't do a formal introduction, I just kind of sneaked it into my first post, the KY Jelly post. teehee. I can see you're a bunch of nice guys with opinions. Always fun! *grin* Thanks for your welcome though, that's so sweet of you!
*hug*

It's always nice to see a new face.
We've been missing an "Al" here at our little place of refuge, so it's really good to have you aboard, dude!

I am pretty sure Al is our very first Al.
Hi Al......
Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

Glad you saw my message. I was afraid it might have gotten lost in the shuffle. I should have posted it in a new thread to make it more noticeable.
But I'll say Hi again anyways. If you haven't already noticed, I'm the resident chef-in-training. There's lots of guys in here that love to cook (Hi Marc!) and most love to eat, so I've gotten into posting my own version of "cooking school stories" for every to enjoy (especially Lenny who might just be the sweetest (definitely the Swedest) guy in here). If you (or anyone) ever wants one of the recipes, just say so. I'll be happy to post it.
Think good thoughts,

*grin* I would love to hear recipe's.. too bad I don't have the materials, but my mom loves it when i decide to pop up with the desire to cook. she seems to like my random concoctions here and there. If you saw my post to the cinnabon comments. man you got me drooling thinking of cinnamon rolls. *GRIN* Keep it up! Warren, I know you posted in your message that you felt that it was a downturn that no one welcomed me. Don't worry 'bout that, I didn't mind it at all actually. I just got into postings, and since people responded, I know people were aware that I existed. Anyways this post is welcome enough for me. I've become a chatterbox that no one can shut up now. *GRIN* I'll be nice though and not inundate this board with replies. .

There are far too many days when there is nothing (or very little) at all to read around here. It'll take me a little bit to type it up, but I'll post the cinnamon roll recipe.
Think good thoughts,

ROLLS:
1/2 cup warm water
2 packages dry yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
3 1/2 oz. pkg. vanilla pudding mix
1/2 cup margarine, melted
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
6 cups flour
Filling:
1 cup butter
2 cups brown sugar
4 tsp cinnamon
raisins (optional)
CREAM CHEESE FROSTING:
8 oz. cream cheese
1/2 cup margarine
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 cups confectioner's sugar
1 tablespoon milk
To make frosting, mix all ingredients until smooth.
Rolls:
In a bowl combine water, yeast and sugar. Stir until dissolved. Set
aside.
In large bowl, take pudding mix and prepare according to package
directions.
Add margarine, eggs and salt. Mix well.
Then add yeast mixture. Blend.
Gradually add flour; knead until smooth. Place in a greased bowl.
Cover and let rise until doubled. Punch down dough and let rise
again.
Then roll out on floured board to 34 x 21" size.
Take 1 cup soft butter and spread over surface.
In bowl, mix 2 cups brown sugar and 4 teas. cinnamon.
Sprinkle over top.
Sprinkle with raisins, if using.
Roll up very tightly.
With knife, put a notch every 2". Cut with thread or knife.
Place on lightly greased cookie sheet 2" apart.
Take hand and lightly press down on each roll.
Cover and let rise until double again.
Bake at 350F for 15−20 minutes.
Remove when they start to turn golden.
DON'T OVER BAKE.
Frost warm rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting.
Makes about 20 very large rolls.
If using rapid rise yeast, omit first rising of dough....
just mix dough ingredients and let sit for about 10 minutes and then
roll out.
(I still mixed the yeast with the warm water when I used the rapid
rise...
you probably don't need to do that...
but I wasn't sure about the moisture content if I did not...
I have not baked with yeast enough to know for sure.)
After placing on baking sheets, let rise 'til almost doubled and
then bake.

Several million recipes for cinnamon rolls? HOW MANY are there?? and then i'm now curious about cinnamon bun horror story. hehehe... was this a bad dream that you were going to be eaten in a cinnamon bun (you were rolled in the cinnamon bun for some odd reason) story by a chick? or was it just a real bad experience at making it. You brought it up! *looks innocent* ;-D Ah well I'm going to try to get my mind elsewhere.
