I hate to be political since it causes controversy, but I really don't feel that about this issue. I feel it is about who I am and what I feel about the world I live in.

We had a thread about Janets boobs.

Why is that more important to our news as to why we (YES I SAID WE) went to war and killed people.

We, and I don't care what country you come from have a stake in what we the people in this world allow to happen.

I truely feel this is about who WE are in this world.

I am a gay man. But that is only a very small part of who I am in this world.

I think people of all countries should make their voices heard when it comes to important issues like this.

Americans are responsible for the wars and the peace that their leaders preside over. Oh sure, we try to say it's not us personally, but that is just crap. America went to war. That means all of my family here that are Americans went to war.

We may have done it by represetative government, but we did it.

Take resposibility for your vote or your lack of voting.

if you don't vote then you are essetially saying what happens is just fine with you.

I have been in places in this world where people have walked for two days for the right to vote. So I just cannot understand the apathy in my own country.

I don't care what you feel is the right party or the right candidate, make your voice heard ... PLEASE. Gay marriage is one front we fight on, but it's not the only one. Be a part of the world you live in.

Just my two cents,

Kevin

Janet has boobs.... Janet showed boob.... Janet did it in a very public place.... Janet's boob was on TV.... It was news....

I went to war? That must have been a day I slept in....

No Dan-ling.... I did not go to war.... Some war mongering politicos went to war....

As for making our voices heard about important issues.... Well, I don't care one way or the other about Janet's boob....

I personally claim no responsibility for the actions of the leaders of this or any other government.

If I vote or not it is my business.... No one elses....

And I resent the notion that if I don't chose to think the way you think I am not a part of this world....

If you don't mind, I can think for myself....

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

Marc, for gosh sakes! I am hoping you will think for yourself just like everyone else.

Please don't be combative just because it's me.

I only ask that you make your views known by a vote, nothing more.

For the sake of this MB please change your tone or ignore me, I am not looking to fight with you.

PLEASE,

Kevin

Voting is indeed a good thing....

but just as going to the polls is a right so is not going....

it is within the provence of the individual to decide what is and is not important in his/her life.

Personally I believe that all, yes all politicians are in the game only for their own gain.... They theive, lie, badger and otherwise do whatever and say whatever needed to become elected.... Once in office they too soon forget those that placed them there and even faster forget whatever ideals they showed in order to endear themselves to their constituants.

I also hold followers of politicians in just as high a reguard.

To me they are just more wolves in the pack....

...there just isn't anything worth voting for. The selection of candiates is generally between two guys from opposing parties that are both supported by big monied interests and don't really give two cents for what people like us think. And when some worthwhile candidate enters the arena, he either can't get enough money from those big monied interests to mount an effective campaign or he is trashed in the press to the point where he couldn't get elected dog catcher. When ballot issues come up that concern me, frequently the choice I'm given isn't really what I would want. I dislike what it is I'm being asked to vote for, I dislike maintaining the status quo. Either way, whether I'm for or against the issue, I'm not satisfied with the outcome. In the last presidential election, for instance, I "wasted" my vote by voting for Ralph Nader who stood no realistic chance of winning. What I would like to see is a place on the ballot to vote for "none of the above."

But I, like Marc, take no responsibility for the actions of our government. My vote may have put some of those idiots there, but I was only voting from the choices I was given. If I could have voted for the person I wanted, I'd likely have voted for someone else. I don't remember who said it (W.C. Fields?) but I wouldn't want to give power to anyone who would take it.

Think good thoughts,
e

e ....

My hope is that you will someday find acandidate to vote for.

I wish I could run but I am one of those to liberal and out of the money interests you speak of.

But is still try because I think the effort is worth the goal.

It may not be attainable, but I refuse to quit just because others attack me, tell me I am fighting a losing battle, or are to idealistic for reality.

I am trying to make our world a better place in the small ways I can.

The lesser of two evils isn't my choice either, but maybe, just maybe it's a baby step to something better.

Just my star gazing idealism,

Kevin
