I don't know how many Jews visit this MB, but even gentiles might find some interest in these two articles:

http://www.jta.org/page_view_story.asp?strwebhead=Gay+Jews+target+Conservatives&intcategoryid=4

As far as the Conservative Movement is concerned (the largest denomination of American Jews) I know of at least one rabbi who is working to get equality for gay rabbis in seminaries and congregations.

Some of you may remember that I belong to some e-groups over here in Asia. One of them is for gays in Bangladesh: a Muslim country, where it's difficult to be gay. Steve's update on developments in thinking about gay issues in Judiasm reminded me that there's been a string of posts about religion amongst the Muslims on that e-group. This excerpt comes from a young guy in University. Given that there is almost no gay-friendly or even gay-neutral education available there, it's a pretty remarkable thing!

"In the name of Allah most gracious most mercy full. God created us
and god wants us to be like this. God is taking test with us. He
gave birth to us as Gay. Wants to see what we do as being attracted
towards same sex. We are performing accordingly to the task he gave
us. Gave us some options like good or bad. As we got this options,
we got the right to lead our life just like straight people.

We can love someone, we can share our life with a person and may
fulfill our physical needs as we required. So as we are gay do we
think having love for same sex, sharing our life with same sex and
fulfill our physical needs with same sex is a sin? Most of us may
say yes it's a sin and after the end of the world we gays must be
thrown to the hell for sure. But from my point of view I say "No"
it's not a sin. As god created us and gave us the power to be gay
and face the world for survival, and made prayer compulsory 5 times
a day. In Holy Quran god mentioned that "If my creation Human prays
to me 5 times regularly till his/her death and asks something from
their heart then I won't let him go empty handed and can't sent him
to hell instead of heaven".

But unfortunately as most of our Muslim
gay brothers thinks being gay they are making the biggest sin of
their life and as they made the sin by just being born they never prays, which is very much wrong and sad concept to me. I think as god created me as gay, gave me the right to choose a life partner and for fulfillment of my physical needs I am sharing with my life partner who is also gay
(instead harming any straight girls life), he can't throw me to
hell. I am praying 5 times daily and inshallah will be praying till
my death.

As god gave me the word not to throw to the hell I am
not making any sin. Whatever I am doing just after following the
rules and regulations of Islam. Those who are Muslims here in our
gay community please always try to pray namaz regularly. Inshallah
if we follow our religion god won't leave us empty handed after the
end of the world. Keep the faith and follow Islam. Trust me it will
work 100%. Keep faith on Allah."

Actually, Reform Judaism is the largest branch in the U.S. and across North America. And Reform Judaism is on record formally endorsing civil marriages for same-gender couples, while the rabbinic association -- the Central Conference of American Rabbis (CCAR) -- is on record endorsing religious wedding ceremonies for same-gender couples.
