So what will everybody be doing with their "extra Day"?

Man and I are packing some stuff up and tossing some papers and such, getting ready for the move to the new apartment in the city. WE'll be on the 25th floor, with great views of the city and a nice breeze as well.

Of course, we still go down to the beach house on week-ends, usually...just not this week.

And a happy birthday to everybody who only officially get to celebrate every fourth year!!

in to my saddle, that is. This time of year, we start organizing the local rodeos and events. First, I have to go be 'saved', then I get to go have fun. One more year and I'm eligible for the bull-riding. I know, I know... I should be eligible now with all the 'bull' I can throw ::-)

Sounds like you have the perfect setup......city view and country quiet.

Andy, you reminded me right then of the vicious, man-eating rabbit in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail". Thanks for that little giggle!

And smith, riding bulls? Watch your ass...or make sure ya get a nice massage for the sore places afterward...

Oh! Right! That's next year... Anywaaaay...

Yeah, my new apartment is pretty cool. I am sad to be leaving the one we found in July, it's terrific, everything except the location more than 5 kilometers from my office...

The new place is a luxury high-rise that I am renting for about half the going market rate since it's owned by a well-to-do friend of mine. I'm lucky to have it. It has a pool, jacuzzi, steam, and fitness center on the 10th floor, and another pool in the midst of the roof garden on the 35th floor. The lobby looks like a 5-star hotel.

Anybody wanna come over for a house-warming party? Thursday night at 7:30. Man and I are both cooking.

Isn't it curious how those doing the "saving" (and who are so quick to tell others they need "saving") are so often the ones who need it the most? Like that guy on CNN's "Larry King Show" the other night who lectured the actor Chad Allen on how sinful and evil he is for being gay and in a committed loving relationship with another man, for instance: does not the very Bible he claims to follow say, "Judge not lest ye be judged"?

Be that as it may....

I never knew you were into rodeo, smith (although, since you are a "farmboy", it perhaps shouldn't come as such a big surprise). Up until fairly recently, a professional rodeo in Mesquite, Texas (of all places!) televised their competition every week. The man doing the "color commentary" was a retired bull rider, and his commentary was often quite colorful indeed. He had the utmost respect for the "clowns" whose job it is to keep the bulls off the riders when they're thrown ("They don't print enough money," he was fond of saying), but they were the targets of some of his most amusing remarks. For example, one of the clowns was inside this heavy rubber-lined barrel; and when a bull once rammed the barrel and sent it spinning end over end across the arena with the clown still inside, he said, "That bull's turning that barrel into a porta-potty!" Sometimes when a thrown rider would be running for the fences with the bull poking him in his derriere in hot pursuit, he'd say, "Uh oh! He's getting his oil checked right there!"

Anyway, smith, I hope you'll tell us more about it. Have fun; but stay safe, ok?

Oh, and by the way: {{{HAPPY BIRTHDAY SMITH!!!}}}

How's that for a "leap" from this thread's topic?
