We have had several performance issues with the new server farm where our ISP has moved. The most challenging of these is site performance.

We are working hard on the elements under our control, though they have changed some cpu scheduling limits without telling us. The affected areas are those which use MySQL, which was on its knees. Those areas are now 90% solved.

The hardest to solve is the connection speed from some arbitrary parts of the world. This is a problem "somewhere between you and us" if you are affected. One thing you could do is to ask your own ISP to investigate. The site is not pornographic, nor particularly controversial, so this is not a huge issue.

We have proved beyond any doubt that the server itself serves pages fast and well. And we know that communications problems are not ones that an ISP can usually solve for the web sites hosted there. So it may be some foible of internet routing that is causing come of you to have any and all pages time out.

The only suggestion here is CTRL/REFRESH which can make the link "clear its throat", but I am clutching at straws here
