It's only been three weeks since I've been out of school, but it seems like forever. Officially, I'm still on a leave of absence due to my illness and I will be reinstated on 4/30. This is because I only have to complete the final two weeks because they aren't making me retake the entire class, only what I missed. However, the new term began today and I went to class anyways. while I am not going to be permitted to do any cooking (too many liability issues since I am officially still on leave), I will be permitted to watch the demonstrations and lectures. That way I can at least have a bit of a refresher on all the information.
I met several of my new classmates. They seem pretty nice. One is actually an old classmate who failed the Baking I class and had to retake it last term. At least he passed the second time around. There are a few good looking guys, one in particular seems to stand out as easily the best looking guy in the class. My first thought when I saw him was "Ashton Kutcher." I'm not sure why. His face really doesn't look like Ashton's. He's actually better looking. I think maybe it was his posture, just the way he carried himself or it might be the hair, same style. I'm not too sure which feature I like better, his eyes or his smile. He's got these eyebrows that sort of stand out, not really heavy or bushy, but they give him a kind of "wolfish" look. His smile is wide and a little thin and the corners of his mouth turn upward slightly. It reminds me of the best friend I first fell in love with who nearly rejected me when I told him. Dark brown hair, brown eyes, broad shoulders and no butt. I'd guess that he's about 21 or 22. The funniest thing, though, was his name. If you recall, the super cutie from my lsast class was Brandon. Well the guy is... Brendan. I couldn't help but chuckle to myself when I found out. But while the names are very similar, the two seem completely different. Brandon could only be described and cute or boyish. Brendan is simply "hot." My entire first impression is based on looks alone. I didn't get to talk to him.
Switching topics, my granddaughter seems to be getting cuter everyday. she's always like watching commercials, but now I can see the effect they have on her. Yesterday we were in the car when we drove by McDonald's. When she saw the golden arches she screamed out "I'm lovin' it." This evening we were watching tv after I got home from class. A commercial for Expedia came on. Right at the end a voice says "Expedia," and she chimed right in with the response "Dot Com." The funniest though, was when she began singing "Who let the pigs in?" It's a Dish Network commercial that has bastardized the song "Who let the Dogs out?" as a way of putting down cable tv companies that have raised their rates. Hopefully she's not going to become too brainwashed.
Think good thoughts,

I wanted to write something really nice in reply to this one, but I'm soooo tired unfortunately it's not even funny. I sleep well, but I just didn't sleep long enough this past night. At least I woke up at a decent hour, just after 8am.
Anyway, thanks for the story, you know how much I luv them! It's good to hear you're back in class, even if it's only unofficially. It's also good to hear about Brendan! He seems like a yummy guy apart from the no butt thing... That's a bit of a bummer, hehe! Sure it's not the baggy jeans all guys seem to wear these days that's hiding it?
Also, luv the little story on your granddaughter, she seems like such a cool kid! I don't think you need to worry too much about the brainwashing thing as long as you guys remember the TV is not a babysitter, heh.
Take care my favorite granddaddy!
*Hugs!*
