For a long time now I've been browsing Nifty. As usual some stories are good and others are very poor. One thing that puts me off a story is language. And that leads me to a question:

"Why do some gay authors (usually in a domination situation) appear to feminise the domninated party with female descriptions of male anatomical parts?"

Examples: Anus is translated into "boy-pussy" (a particular loathed item of mine), "cunt" (how female can one get?).

Can anyone help me with the thinking behind this?

Why is lewd/coarse language in general supposed to be a turn-on? For me, it's in 99+ % of all cases the complete opposite, usually to a very high degree as well! This includes submitting the counterpart to a demeaning treatment as well, including physical violence (ugh, blech), and/or raunchy stuff...

But, I guess it's all different strokes for different folks. I just tend to steer clear of it. ONCE I did write the author of a particulary disgusting story (basically torture of a minor) a polite flamemail, but that's it. Smile

I don't mind what you might call "legitimate coarse language", though I do get fed up with volumes of ejaculate and everyone having a penis that you have to tuck into you sock to stop the tip dragging on the ground. Tell you what, let's make this twin threads. I really do want to understand the "feminisation" of male genitalia

Damn good topic. For the life of me I cannot understand this fixation refering the anus to a pussy or calling a males anus *a boy pussy*.I would never feminize another male nor consider any of his parts female. But thats just me.BTW that was one hellova topic on anal sex.It was refreshing to me that a lot af gays do not practice anal sex.I do hope I am on topic here. What I do believe is that sex should be spontanious, enrichening the bonds between lovers whatever the preference. s

Its true that Nifty has some pretty vulger stories,Nifty does provide a venue for many budding authors without having to pay a fee.Just like the garbage on tv,one can always surf the channels and bypass the junk.In fact my tv hasnt been turned on for several weeks.Getting back to Nifty however, all one has to do is scroll down and count the number of authors, count the number of readers and see that they must be doing something right. Many a author got his start on Nifty.Perhaps that is a good thing. s

I love a well-written story and there are many on Nifty. But you are right. there are a considerable number of awful ones too. Language can be either a huge turn on or a big turn off and the language you describe is definitely a turn off. In general I skip stories when I see it, though on rare occasion it does seem to be used in a legit fashion as part of the story. Have you ever asked any of the authors why they use such language?

Think good thoughts,
e

Seems simple enough to me. It's a reinforcement of the traditional misogynistic view of dominant males and submissive females. They (the dominant characters in such stories, or the authors themselves) like playing power games. Perhaps they are uncomfortable with being gay, and can only deal with gay sex by enforcing a female role on their partner. Or perhaps they are aware, and simply choose this language for fun. Or as role-play. It could also be a kind of symbolic castration. The assignment of a female aspect to the male acts to reinforce the dominant-submissive dynamic.
