If yes, here's a tip for you:

Go look up a skin called LayerOne. It's available at http://www.metaskins.net for example and it totally rules.

It's small and regularly shaped so it's actually useable (doesn't look like a boomerang that takes up half your screen real estate like so many other stupid skins), buttons actually have symbols on them humans can decipher (ie, play button actually looks like a play button etc), it has great VIS modes, manymany good color schemes, and it's just overall an excellent and very stylish skin.

I use it now in the Shade mode and with 80% transparency. Well, I guess 20% transparency/80% opacity is a more correct way to put it, but that's how the slider is labelled... Wink Looks awesome when it sits in the upper right corner of the screen with AVS next to it.

I also have about a million AVS presets that look really cool that can just sit there and cycle through at random to give some visual boost to the desktop.

Awesome stuffs!

It really made me laugh, it was so funny...! Well, I don't know if it's a joke per se because it is supposed to be a true story - like so many others on the internet. It sounds incredulous, but then when one remembers we humans often miss some trivial detail that when overlooked creates a vastly different outcome.

I'm pretty stoked at the thought of Nick soon stepping off the airplane here in Göteborg on a quick but hopefully very rewarding visit. I have lots of places I want to show him, but am a little worried I've lured him into coming here on false pretenses. You see, our summer SUCKS right now! Smile It's cold, it's been raining tons and tons, and there's been precious little in the way of sunlight!

Of course, the constant optimist will say now the bad weather of the season is behind us; from here on it can only get better (and july is typically a (much) better month than june). I sure hope that is true, because going on a several hours long walk in chilly drizzle isn't particulary tempting! Wink

Still, I am really happy he will come to visit! It will be so fun just to see him, even if the weather sucks. Very Happy

Hugs for everyone today:
-L

Thanks for the compliment Lenny. I'm looking forward to my visit.

The summer in Sweden can't be any worse than the one we're having here. It's been raining most of the week and Wimbledon tennis was rained off again today.

OK here's the joke. As Lenny says, it's apparently a true story.

Scientists at Roll Royce built a gun specifically to launch dead chickens at the windshields of airliners, and military jets, all travelling at maximum velocity. The idea is to simulate the frequent incidents of collisions with airborne fowl to test the strength of the windshields. American engineers heard about the gun and were eager to test it on the windshields of their new high speed trains.

Arrangements were made, and a gun was sent to the American engineers. When the gun was fired, the engineers stood shocked as the chicken hurled out of the barrel, crashed into the shatterproof shield, smashed it to smithereens, blasted through the control console, snapped the engineer's back-rest in two and embedded itself in the back wall of the cabin, like an arrow shot from a bow. The horrified Yanks sent Rolls Royce the disastrous results of the experiment, along with the designs of the windshield and begged the British scientists for suggestions.

Rolls Royce responded with a one-line memo:

"Defrost the chicken."
