There was this movie several years ago, about a young hacker who came into contact with an AI that was designed to coordinate the US efforts in case of a global thermonuclear conflict. It seemed to be rather obsessed with playing gtc, and thinking it was possible to win such a war, until the young hacker taught it how to play tik-tak-toe. Then it suddenly had an epiphany:

Sometimes the only way to win is not to play the game.

so it would seem with your game.
