I am planning an element of the main site with some external pastoral care. One person I have approached has said that she would be able to participate only if there were some sort of "the site does not encourage paedophilia" label somewhere.

I am struggling with this. The struggle is not because I disagree with the notion, but because putting such words on a site gets the site indexed in search engines as though it contains such things.

I am looking for two types of thoughts here.

1) How to word it wisely

2) Where to put it

Wording:

One approach would be to be as direct as posible. Staring the gorgon directly in the eye without flinching indicates strength of purpose. What does it matter what a search engine produces if you know you are forthright in your intentions as well as your actions?

Another approach would be to say what you want to say while at the same time sidestep the exacting phrasiology required by search engines.

Where to place it? What does it matter? What are the criteria for desired results reguarding the visual accessability of the material?

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

I have editted a page that I bet none of you have ever gone to. The disclaimer. It is being checked over by lawyers, but I think it meets all needs

The main parts area of awkwardness is the formal discoruagement of and distancing anyone here from "cross age of consent" relationships of a sexual nature

The wording at present is as follows:

"The owner of this web site and any people contributing to it cannot be made responsible for injuries or other harm resulting from following the advice or information found on this web site or any web sites it links to. The reader (you) is solely responsible for using the information found on the website. Therefore, it is in the reader's best interest to use the information as advice, not as a manual. Where any medical, psychological or apparent medical or psychological advice is given it is the reader's responsibility to check the advice and to take competent qualified medical or other advice before taking any action. Further, nothing on this site may be construed as encouraging those under the age of consent to engage in sexual activities. This site does not condone nor encourage sexual relations between those over the age of sexual consent with those younger."

See the main menu on the site for details.

Now I just need some help in expanding it

Although, thinking about it, I think "care" is the wrong term....

guidence I believe is a more correct word to use....

After all, we are not putting ourselves into these practitioners of the religous arts "care".... we are looking for "guidence" to be able to chose the course that is right for each that is seeking.

That list is awesome.

What I am looking for most as well is a set of individual pastors in varying faiths who express willingness to be contacted (hence "care", too). Duty, for example, has been tot he site, read parts of it, and is content to offer anything ranging from a listening ear all the way to genuine care.

I understand your point of view but I still think "guidence" is better. After all a large part of a persons religious experience is the commraderie of the congregation (something that is not possible online). Online persons will be able to get advice, and indeed the person giving it will have to at least "care" but in reality all they can offer is guidence toward a direction to follow.

That, and I object personally to "being cared for".

I know it is a matter of symantics, but the word "care" really makes me uncomfortable.

perhaps a different peropisiton would help you? I think in so many ways "cared 'about'" is better than "cared 'for'"
