...that life (including electrical power and Internet service) is returning yet again to the wind-swept and water-logged State of Florida, and that our beloved smith is still none the worse for wear (melting from the unrelenting heat though he may be).
Let's all get together and (through our thoughts!) send smith and his fellow Floridians the biggest, coldest and frostiest mug of root beer the world has ever seen, along with the fervent wish that no hurricane will ever darken their door again!
Hey, smith, Sammy, Robby, and some other Florida friends -- thank God you're safe and sound, near as can be.
If, like me, you don't much like root beer, here's a nice tall glass of iced tea (the Brits are shocked, I know). Maybe you'd like a tall, frosty Coke instead.
I'm thrilled to hear that at least smith and family have their utilities back! Yeah! Ice! Refrigeration! Air Conditioning!! Cold water! Hot water! No more **** canned corned beef!! (I like corned beef, just not in the can, thanks to Hurricane Alicia.) Heh, and you've got web access back too!
I know y'all will still be facing cleanup for weeks or months, but this is a big step in the right direction. -- Here's hoping hurricanes miss Florida entirely next year!
My part of Texas was lucky when Ivan came back into Cameron, LA for another round. But just yesterday, the newspaper had an article where they are reviewing safety and evac. plans again.
