Some of you may have read my poem Life Lost, but I wanted everybody to know that I told Jeff I was gay like last week, since he moved to west virginia, we haven't talked that much, so I went ahead and sent him a text message telling him I was gay... I think he avoided the subject when I called him the next day.
If you want to read my poem here is a link to my section http://iomfats.org/poetrycorner/poets/skylor/ I'd appreciated if you'd give me feedback on what you think... I'll I have to say now is that Life isn't Lost now... I told him.

Skylor...and anyone else this might apply to...
Even if you hadn't told him you're gay, and even if you didn't tell him you had feelings for him, that would not mean life's lost. It's simply one relationship that didn't work out. Yes, that often happens. I suppose it's something like when a straight guy loves a girl and she doesn't love him. Of course, we have that extra complication that it's a guy, who may be appalled that a friend is gay and likes him that way. Yes, it makes you wonder what the purpose of it all is, and why you have to go through that.
It's good you don't feel so lost anymore. I hope you'll have a better time with the next guy you like.

It's more of I felt like my life would of been lost if he had been gay and we could of had something but I was always to chicken to tell him.

You know, this kinda reminds me of a story, something that happened to me just recently that's kinda ironic really.
So i'm going to college for the first time this year, (college vs university has a lot of different meanings depending on where you live, here university is the higher education and yes i will be going there too in a year or so.) There's this girl in one of my classes, she's nice and smart enough that we can work together with great success. Well anyway, a few weeks ago she suggested that we meet in the library after class to study together and stuff which i thought was a good idea. But i'm kinda a social person so we talked mostly. Well a few days ago, completely out of no where she asks me out on a date! first thought through my head: 'Woah, no one has ever asked me out before!' second thought, 'why do you have to be a girl?'
so i just looked at her for a moment, totaly in shock which obviously made her like a thousand times more nervious than she already was because she said, "you know it's fine if you don't want to, i'll understand."
I said "You know what, sure. Let's get together but first, i think we need to have a quick talk."
"You already have a girl friend."
"No. ummm...i'm not sure how to say this because usualy i plan for like two weeks before i do this but lets just say that i'm not EVER going to have a GIRL friend."
So long story short, we had lunch and sat outside on campus and talked about the cute guys who walked by. But i can't help but feel sorry, she obviously has feelings for me and i know how hard it is when you have feelings for someone and they don't even notice never mind sharing those feelings.
So yeah, kinda ironic i think :-/

I know the feeling. The vast majority of people who have "had feelings" for me, have been women--the most recent of which was a russian emigre` when i was working for Public Health. Her English wasn't great, so i had to go over to her house and point out the word "homosexual" in her Russian/English dictionary, and then point vigorously at myself. It was a bit awkward.
cheers!

yes it was. She was terribly sweet about it though--gave me a big hug and a kiss on the cheek, and off i went. If i'd been straight, i'd have gone out with her...

Wow, i'm sorry but that just made me laugh, you actualy had to point it out to her in the dictionary and then point to yourself, that's a situation fit for a sitcom.
