Haha, summer holidays. Well, in the northern hemisphere, it's fall (autumn) now, so summer is as far away as your country. Where I am, it's probably warmer than you're used to in your autumn. So we are thinking of fall and winter here.
I'm surprised you noticed "y'all" for plural you. That's something we say in the South here, y'all = you all. Oh, and remember your apostrophe (') in English.
Summer? Swimming, cookouts and barbecues, camping, time outdoors, more mosquitoes, and, oh yeah -- it gets very hot and humid here in summer, in the 90s and 100s Fahrenheit, that's somewhere in the 30s Celsius. Summer here is hurricane season, which was unusually severe this year. (Hmm. I'm not sure what South Africa's usual climate range is, I'll have to look that up.)
Fall and winter here can be warm or cool, ten to twenty degrees cooler than in spring and summer. Occasionally, we have cold spells, as far down as 15°F (somewhere below -9°C) and often rainy.

Well actually, it can go up to 45 Degrees celsius by eleven in the mornings in spring (so its not realy cold) My town has the second most standerd temperature range in the world (bet u didn't know that, well geogligy helps) Were gonna braai lekke every day and luckily it doesn't get humid but a weird thing is, when its realy hot the tarr on the roads start to melt and you can write in it with sticks. I always lay in one of my clubhouses the whole day and go home when everyone sleeps so they dont bug me. Anyway, i hope you love your cold weather, send me a picture of snow, ive only seen snow once in my life when i went mountain climbing in the black mountains

I thought about the words of the Everything But the Girl song--"Highest of highs, and lowest of lows...." I remember that roller coaster. And the way that summer break stretched out in front of me in an endless series of warm or rainy days...into infinity and each day lasted a year and nothing meant anything. When i would spend a whole day locked up in the shed, scaring the crap out of myself reading Poe's "Pit and the Pendulum"...
One doesn't get to be young for very long.
Oh! and i did have a freaky, cool, lovely, kissy weekend--thank you!
cheers!

It only snows here every five or six years, just enough to dust the ground, more like frost. But I've seen it slightly deeper once, here, and have seen real snow in Virginia.
...And I wish I had a kissy weekend! ;-D I'm just not out of the closet enough yet to try that again -- Pretty soon, though, I think.

I wish i had a lovely kissy freaky whatever weekend ah well.
I also like the theme song to Pokemon, i know that's kinda strange but i like it, although i liked the original the best, the newer themesong kinda sucked and it was around that time that i stopped watching. Maybe that's the song i should sing and send to Eothain... hmmmm....
as for sending you a picture of snow, i don't have any handy right now it's night time. But there's 10 inches on the ground everywhere, the temp is minus 15 C and there's a slight breeze making it feel like minus 20 C. tell you what, i'll get a picture of snow, if you can get a picture of tarr melting on the road, i've never seen that before.
I don't think i could tollerate that kind of heat, after about 32C i start to get really uncomforatble and around 40C i get dizzy and sick and i just hate it.
One year it snowed almost 2 meters here in a single night. it was really cool and a lot of fun. I made the biggest snow fort ever and so did my brother and we threw snowballs at each other all day.
Living near the mountains i used to go skiing back when it wasn't so expencive. That was a lot of fun too, i got pretty good at it. Did you know you can get a sun tan from spending a day skiing? you can. I used to get them all the time, and because i was wearing ski gogles it look really funny because i had what my mom called the "sonic the hedghog" face, (big white oval around the eyes and the rest tanned.)
So yeah, there are times when i strongly dislike the cold and the snow, but to be quite honest, most of the time, i love the snow, and even the cold. I just wish the summers were warmer.

Okay...i did it, i fired up the crappy old Digital camera today and i shot some pictures of the snow. It's a shame i didn't take them yesterday because today the temperature soured to plus 10C and the snow is melting. Ah well... i took ten, i'm not really sure ones to send, some aren't that good, like the picture of the snow ball, i put a snow ball on my front step (green carpet) and the camera distorted the colours so the snowball kinda looks purple. Meh, cheap camera it takes pictures sometimes so i don't complain.
