If I was American, I'd vote for Kerry. Who are you gonna vote for?

I voted today. I've voted in every presidential election and many other elections since I first registered to vote at age 18.

Let's say I prefer tomatoes to other small shrubbery. That tells you how I voted.

Despite all the valid concerns over major issues, including the very nature of our American democracy, we still can vote and disagree peacefully. -- Let's hope this election resolves things in everyone's best interests, no matter who wins.

That is an important legacy from our English cousins, that the nature of English democracy was such that English citizens could disagree with their government. There were people for the Colonies' view in England, and people for the Crown's view in what became America. Yes, the disagreement became armed conflict. But another important point is that we became allies again. That makes America and England pretty unique in world history.

So, a word of thanks to America's remote cousins in the UK.

And it would be most curious and quite welcome if some of you literally are my own remote cousins.

I voted. It doesn't look like my side is going to win though. Eleven states passed gay marriage bans. Imagine that. Eleven. It is very depressing that so many people all across this great nation hate you, sight unseen, based on something you have no control over and couldn't change if you wanted too.

Well, it's official. The USA is now one big happy ranch run by a cowboy Smile And don't we all love leather chaps?

But then in 4 more years he'll be gone and replaced bby some other bozo. His opposition was no great shakes either. We have the same in the UK. The Honourable member for Texas East is to call an election soon enough, and he will be re-elected too.

The thing is that is politics. It just isn't real life! It looks like it, but it isn't!
