Following up on the Romanian trio -- what song(s) really are Gay Anthems? How about (before it was co-opted by all the sports channels):
WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS
I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face
But I've come through

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world

I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
I thank you all

But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose

We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world

Works for me -- how about you? d

... but, I suspect that an individual's choice of what they consider to be the ultimate "GAY" Anthem would lie within the realm of their own age and experience

As a fifties-something year-old child of the GAY, and often turbulent 1950's and 1960's, I've seen any number of suitable contenders come and go, most notable amongst these being:

Vicki Carr's "IT MUST BE HIM"

Jackie Wilson's "NIGHT"

Jerry Butler and Betty Everett's "LET IT BE ME"

Mel Carter's "HOLD ME, THRILL ME, KISS ME"

The Village People's "YMCA"

ABBA's "DANCING QUEEN"

Supertramp's "GOOD-BYE STRANGER"

Grace Jones' "I NEED A MAN"

Blondie's "HEART OF GLASS"

Elton John's "DON'T LET THE SUN GO DOWN ON ME"

Culture Club's "DO YOU REALLY WANT TO HURT ME?"

and of course your own nomination Queen's "WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS"

These provided without any consideration of any given tunesmiths' own particular sexuality, but solely based upon these having been whole-heartedly embraced by the "Lavender" community for having their spoken directly to each and everyone of us, at one time or another.

The boy I love is up in the gallery.
The boy I love is looking down at me.
There he is!
Can't you see?
Waving his handkerchief,
As merry as a robin that sings on a tree.

And let's not forget those two old chestnuts:

"I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor
and
"It's Raining Men" by Martha Wash (The Weather Girls)

ABBA, especially "Gimme a man after midnight" and "Dancing Queen".

I would have to say this is my favorite one.. my coming out song.

Of course i do love all the ones mentioned above.

[Tiffany Taylor]:(Cast)

Here in the Dark
I stand before you
This is my chance to show you my heart
This is the start, this is the start.

I have so much to say and I'm hoping
That your Arms are open
Don't turn away, don't you need me?
But you have to hear me.

Here's where I stand,
Here's who I am
Love me, but don't tell me who I have to be
Here's who I am,
I'm what you see.

You said I had to change and I was trying
But my heart was lying
I'm not a child any longer
I am stroooongerrrr

Here's where I stand,
Here's who I am
Help me, to move on but please don't tell me how
I'm on my way, I'm moving out

In this life we've come so far
but we're only who we are (who we are)
Courage of love (Courage of Love)
will show us the way (Show us the way)
Unlock the power
To stand up and saaaaa--aaaaayyy (Stand upppp)

(Up and say!)
Herreeeee's where I stand
Here's who I am
(Stand Up) I'll be counting, counting on you
If you're with me, we'll make it through

Here's where I stand,
Here's who I am
Love me, Love me, Love me, and we'll make it through

Here's where I stand,
Baby, Baby, Baby, I'm counting on you

Here's where I stand
Love me, Love me, Love me, and we'll make it through

I'm counting, Oooh,
I'm counting,
I'm counting, I'm counting onn....
Yooooooooouuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

[Tiffany adlibs throughout this part]

(Here's where I stand,
Here's who I am
I'm counting on you)

(Here's where I stand,
Here's who I am
We'll make it through)

(Here's where I stand,
Here's who I am
I'm counting on you)

(Here's where I stand,
Here's who I am
We'll make it through)

(Repeat till fade)

You don't love someone because they are beautiful, they are beautiful because you love them.
