I've lurked here for years, or so it seems. And I've watched it change, certainly over the last three years.

It was gentle, friendly and a place where people could receive help, advice, or a sympathetic ear from just about anybody else. Always a friend available.

I'm not much into new people being welcomed, but no-one seems to any more. And no, I don't need to be welcomed. I actually mean welcomed by someone responding to their needs. People don't seem to do that any more.

I'm here, now. Pun intended. Not, I think, to stay; just to watch. Not to post my issues, because people only post issues. They don't seem to post answers. What happened to the ideals at the top of the board? Is everyone too self centred to work for someone else?

People left because the atmosphere was too odd. And the ones who have much to say stopped positing. Why? It seem to me because no-one ever answered. So they stopped too.

The only way it can come back is if the place is recaptured by those who need it the most.

I think a bit harsh, but I see your point.

I miss the posters who have gone. So many from way back just driifted away. And so many new ones drifted in. So it has balanced, in a way. I do wish more genuine help were given to those who ask, though.

The only way this will happen is if the people who wonder why it changed grasp the nettle and reverse their part of the change

i feel you on this. i still lurk but i never speak up, anymore. i'm not dredging up old reasons why because that's detrimental and i'm very far from that person that i was. but i still don't post, despite that, because i've tried and things went nowhere. friends i thought i had weren't really friends at all, just names and text on the screen that sometimes answered what i had to say, who later didn't take much stock in my apologies for being so inappropriate. and they have that right. despite that i miss them so badly that i could only "officially" stay away from here for about a month, before i came back but just to read from invisible sidelines.

anyways this is bordering on dredging.

for your sake i'm glad that you decided to speak up and i hope that maybe things could become for you what you want them to, here (or elsewhere.) i'll be here, somewhere or another, reading if you ever do say more. i have an email somewhere around here if you ever wanted to use it.

my void does not want.

Hi, I missed you....

Email me sometimes...

Marc

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
