Eat your hearts out all you American would-be tars and salts.
The paradox has often been noted that the United States, founded in secularism, is now the most religiose country in Christendom, while England, with an established church headed by its constitutional monarch, is among the least. (Richard Dawkins, 2006)

When I chose the "Subject" for the previous message I must have had a subconcious realization. Clearly I had in mind W.S. Gilbert's famous spoof on 19th century Victorian political corruption:
When I was a lad I served a term
As office boy to an attorney's firm:
I cleaned the windows and I swept the floor
And polished up the handle of the big front door.
I polished that handle so carefullee
That now I am the ruler of the Queen's Navee...
I now have a gayer understanding of the meaning of "polishing up the handle on the big front door".
