I found this on the web today:

With rights like these recognised do gay couples really need official recognition of marriage?

Maybe we need to start a "Gay-Friendly Heroes Gallery". I certainly think that Menachem Mazuz would qualify. Come to think of it, maybe we could also have a "Gay-Unfriendly Rogues Gallery" too: I can think of several qualified candidates. What about it, Timmy?

The paradox has often been noted that the United States, founded in secularism, is now the most religiose country in Christendom, while England, with an established church headed by its constitutional monarch, is among the least. (Richard Dawkins, 2006)

You design it and word it, I'll put it up there. How about that?

The negative side though, is dangerous though. I want to avoid that. Let;s praise not pillory

Gay couples need the same legal rights associated with traditional marrige in order to be able to live with a level of security presently not available.

More correctly, it is a matter of having piece of mind reguarding issues such as transfer of property upon death, right of decision in case of medical emergency, health insurance benefits, marital tax benefits and many more.

There are ways of indemnifying couples reguarding these issues through the proper legal documentation but it is not the same.

So I have to say "yes, gays need the right to marry."

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
