this is really odd.
What is actually "special" about a sex offender versus a murderer? If a sentence is served then surely justice has been done?

I live in the southwestern US and There have been a few news stories within the past 5 years here concerning repeat offenders. The sentance may be served, but will the person do what they did again? No one really knows for sure.
It does sound inhumane, i agree that it is, but what are the pros and cons of it? From personal experience, when there is a natural disater occurring and large groups of people, the people tend to become out of control. What kind of 'control' will the sex offenders be in during the storm?

And also pickpockets, muggers, murderers.
And what of embezzlers, fraudsters, confidence tricksters?

What ever happened to the old fashioned method of watching ones own children?
Surely the parents have to take some responsibility here......
Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

I think they mean all types of sex offenders, not simply the ones who abuse children. But I am in accord with you over the sentiment

I believe that the law comes down so hard on "sex offenders" because their offences are usually against children. The law in each country decides at what age a child becomes an adult, and one day or one month short of that defining moment can make you a sex offender. It's a shame sometimes that the law is so black and white, but the law has no grey tones...if there were courts of justice we might find shades of grey, but alas we only have courts of law.
