Personal plea: please take part in this survey if you feel able to! This is not a one-off fly-by-night thing: it continuously informs gay health promotion work throughout the UK. I first filled in a survey for them - from a gay magazine - back in 1982 so they have a long track record. NW
> Sexual health organisations across the UK are relying on you to take part in Vital Statistics , one of the world's largest surveys of gay and bisexual men. Carried out by Sigma Research , as part of the Chaps Partnership’s health promotion work with gay men, findings from the Vital Statistics Men’s Sex Survey 2005 will be used to make a real difference to how gay and bisexual men are treated, Sigma Research director Peter Weatherburn says.
> “The questionnaire only takes ten minutes to complete, and you’ll be participating in what is probably the single largest survey of gay men anywhere in the world,” he adds.
> And it's not just the men on the scene they want to hear from. Organisers want the great variety of gay and bisexual men living across the UK to take part, and have put the survey online to complement the leaflet that is being distributed on the gay scene.
> Will Nutland, head of Health Promotion at THT said that the survey is "vital" in protecting the health of gay and bisexual men. “Previous surveys have told us a lot about men’s attitudes towards a variety of issues, and continue to help us shape our health promotion and HIV prevention work with the gay community," he says.
> "The survey is a vital part of our work in providing information and advice on HIV prevention and sexual health promotion for gay men. It’s only made possible by the participation of over 16,000 men each year”.
> This year's survey builds on the information gathered in previous years, and will include some new questions. In addition to sexual behaviour, other questions relevant to sexual health are included, such as religion, paying for and being paid for sex and whether health promotion campaigns have been seen by those targeted.
> The survey can be completed online until the end of September, and is also available in booklet form from gay venues, support groups and organisations across the UK.

It is an interesting survey. Technically it breaks in parts, but the questions are worthwhile.
I was particulalry impressed with the elements regardingthe sexual health clinics we have here. I woudl like to take a moment to remind ALL UK gay people that these are not only FREE, but are guaranteed anonymity by act of pariliament. Not even your doctor knows you have been.
I have visited one myself, and, while it was not the best time I ever spent in mhy life, it was not degrading, or even other than trivially embarrassing like any penile exam is
