There is a young Moslem whose life is in grave danger because his family have discovered that he is gay. I would be grateful if you would bear him in your thoughts and pray for his safety.

Although he is a secular Moslem I have tried to find some verse from the Quran upon which it might be appropriate to meditate. I am not a Moslem and am not very familiar with the Quran, but I have found this which might be appropriate:

"Whoever surrenders himself to God, being a well-doer, has his reward with his Lord, though fears rest upon him he does not grieve."

But whether you approve this verse or not please keep this young man in your thoughts and pray for his safety during his desperate hour of need.

The paradox has often been noted that the United States, founded in secularism, is now the most religiose country in Christendom, while England, with an established church headed by its constitutional monarch, is among the least. (Richard Dawkins, 2006)

If we mean the young man as the welldoer, surrenders himself to God, I fear that means he will also surrender himself to his killers. Perhaps Islam is even more complex than we as outsiders can see.

Do we have someone who can explain it from the inside and help us while we pray for the young man you have heard about?

Prayer will do nothing to help him......

Only common sense can help.

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
