I wrote the post about ignorance. I could have also used the word
innocence. The situation I dealt with was that I was in such a protected,
secluded environment that I didn't know that love and feelings for the
same sex could happen. I did know I prefered the company of guys to girls.
It was until years later after much confusion, fear, and frustration that
I was given a name for my feelings. The time frame was in the mid-70'S. The word gay was just being used openly to describe a lifestyle, a difference in
the status quo. It only took another 25 years to accept who I was without the
fear.
