Not sure who he is..... But he does have a great enrtance:-D

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...
Mmm - Well Marc, I've never seen him from behind ...  [message #27937 is a reply to message #27916] Tue, 07 February 2006 03:42 Go to previous messageGo to next message

... but it's John Curry (1949-1994), ice wizard and much lamented victim of AIDS. Am I right, or am I right?

Right in one.

John was probably the man responsible for altering figure skating from "merely athletic"(!) to balletic as well. He may well have been the inspiration for Torville and Dean's spectacular dance routines.

He died untimely early of a heart attack "related to AIDS" (though everything seems related to AIDS or did back then), and while he lived alwasy seemed to be a gentle ambassador for hsi sport.
