I found this article in the magazine section of my weekend newspaper. As I was reading it I thought that there are some things here that might interest some of the people who visit this forum, especially the younger ones, perhaps. This article is about Ivri Lider who is a very famous pop star in Israel (population 6 million+). It's long, but if you have the time and interest you might find the reading enjoyable.

I also thought that since Lider will be a singer that nobody on this message board has ever heard of, you might want to get an peek of him at work. If you click on the link below you will reach a clip from a brand new movie, Bubble, for which Lider wrote the music and in which he also sings this song. I chose this song because he sings it in English. It's an old ballad, but has such a poignancy when sung by one of Israel's gay icons. (Ignore the text - you can't read it anyway: the clip should start automatically.)

If you are curious and want to know more about the movie click here:

As with all of the movies made by Eytan Fox (gay himself) there is a strong gay undertow and very left-wing social considerations. (His previous movies were "Yossi and Jagger" and "Walk on Water".)
The paradox has often been noted that the United States, founded in secularism, is now the most religiose country in Christendom, while England, with an established church headed by its constitutional monarch, is among the least. (Richard Dawkins, 2006)
