Is remarkable. Compared to "real-life" so much is stored. I've spent the last couple of hours trawling through posts, dated 2003 and before. I'm talking to a friend that I met in 2001 while I look at the forums we first met on. Some of the original posts are still there. Now that is remiscience.

Look at this tree. I cannot make it blossom when it suits me nor make it bear fruit before its time [...] No matter what you do, that seed will grow to be a peach tree. You may wish for an apple or an orange, but you will get a peach.

Life online seems to go at a very different speed from real life, too.

Everything is accelerated, and somehow more intense.

Yes. That just happened with me and a long time friend. We'll patch it up. But really the net needs eye contact.

The internet is like eating a huge banquet.......

Only everything tastes flat as putty.....

The only thing that flourishes is avoidance.....

Life is great for me... Most of the time... But then I meet people online... Very few are real friends... Many say they are but know nothing of what it means... Some say they are, but are so shallow...

... but some of us do try to preserve our integrity, and would say the same in 2006 as we did in 2003. Don't tar everyone with the same brush!
