Timmy has asked to donate toys for children. Amost every major city has a childrens hosptial.. I go to one and made many friends just to watch them die. but Timmy is right, if you can bring one smile to a boy or girl with cancer or has another deadly desiese or has been in a terrible accident, its worth anything you can do. I go to the Childrens clinic and hospital at Vanderbilt University, there is also St Judes childrens hospital, the shrine burned and crippled childrens hospitals. They will accept any donations or gifts. Im lucky Vanderbilt has one of the best childrens hospital in the world. Rich, poor, destitute no child is ever turned away.
Timmy thanks for thinking of this. It means so much to some of these kids. Some of them have no rents and they are all alone. Thanks agaain Timmy, your a wonderful person and friend.

I sent this out to the iomfats mailing list this morning:
Next update will be as soon after 18 August as I can manage. Lower back is much better, upper back is now tight, sitting here for long periods hurts. So I am hoping sun, sea, sand and the prospect of looking at cute guys will make me feel better.
There is one thing you could do for me. No need to tell me that you've done it. It's a simple birthday present (I have one on Saturday). I don't want cards, emails, or anything like that. What I'd LOVE is for you to go to your local charity shop and buy one or more newish soft toys. Launder them, and take or mail them to your local children's hospice or a children's ward at a local hospital.
The site, you see, is all about helping kids and the adults those kids become. Most of you know that the stories are just a part of that, and create the environment in which people find other information. And one really good thing to do is to help kids in pain anywhere and everywhere. Even if you create one smile you never see before a deeply ill child dies, that was worth doing.
Even better is to ask your friends to do the same. I'm thinking of less than $5 US here. The gift is the time you spend, not the cash value you give. Doesn't matter if you are in a war zone or in a prosperous neighbourhood.
I'll "see" you when I get back. Meanwhile I am packing and leaving at silly o'clock tomorrow morning

Oh yeh, just an aside here. Whenever you see Shrines taking donations, give what you can. The money is going for the Shrine hospitals for crippled and burned children. This is free and they even have places where rents can stay. I think they have been doing this for as long as anyone can remember. Wheather you like Masons or not, this is different this is for kids who couldnt afford the special treatment they get at the shrine Hospitals or afford the doctors and staff who work there.
I know this is probably not the place. I have seen a lot of people pass by the collectors and donate nothing. Even a penny if thats all you have is a penny more than they had and they add up.
