I was reminded in the not-too-distant past that I never made a formal introductory post for this message board. I'll admit that's because my typical modus operandi with message boards, as I do frequent a few, is to try and hit the ground running. I'm not such a fan of the "newbie" designation, so I almost act as if I've been there for some time to try and dodge the inevitable tongue-in-cheek comment about having not been around very long.
Anyway, my name is Adam, I'm 20 years old, and I live in Boston, MA, USA. I'm a student at a University here in Boston, where I'm studying journalism. My long-term goal is to be a syndicated humor columnist, but as I see that as a ways off, I would love to take on an education beat out of school.
I've been hanging around the parent site here for some time now, up to two years, but I've only recently discovered that there was a message board to post on, and here I am.
On the side, I fancy myself a good singer, and I test that theory frequently. I also fancy myself a decent actor, and only a couple hours ago learned I'd been cast in the first major stage production here at school. Not a major part, but I'm not a journalism major, so I'm very excited to be in the show at all. I'm a huge soccer (football) fan, a big baseball fan, and I know my way around American football, too.
I suppose if there's anything anyone would like to know, just go ahead and ask.
-Adam

Don't worry, Timmy -- your writing style gives you away immediately. I think it's the "you know" that does it.

The real reason I suggested you post a newbie post was that I would be able to look it up whenever I forgot who you were.
Seriously, thanks for your post. It's nice to have you around. I think the old people still outnumber us, but we're catching up...

.... Deeej may have difficulty in remembering who you are ... but as one of the resident oldies my problem is remembering who I am! Still, despite changes on the periphery and rude observations from the likes of Deeej, I think that we retain our majority. Geriatrics Unite!
For a' that an' a' that,
It's comin' yet for a' that,
That man tae man, the worrld o'er
Shall brithers be, for a' that.
