Ok need some help? How do you go about telling your boss that you can't work with some one? I already brought my position to his attention. But I am ready to quit over this. How do I give him my options of either moving to another department/ a different store/ or quite. Without being fired on the spot.

You get fired on the spot.
So, instead, let's look at why this person is allegedly impossible to work with. What are they?
Once we know those we can give you clues about handling them.

How do you mean.... "can't work with him/her"???
Do you break out in a huge rash when this person walks by?
Does your breathing become labored?
Do you pass out like a cold fish?
If not, then the reason you "just can NOT work with this person" is a problem you have not one he/she has.
If this person is doing the job assigned to him/her than you have nothing to complain about.
If this person is NOT doing the job assigned than you can act on that point and none other.
The fact of the matter is that even people you do not like have the right to earn a living.

Fighting is not appropriate in the workplace.
If you both are getting into arguements then you both need to grow up and act like adults..... After all they don't hire children to do the work you do.....
If you stop argueing and the other person persists than you can go to your supervisor with a complaint.
But be aware that the other person will have their own side of the story as well. Be sure of the ground you stand on before it turns into quicksand.

1. What about?
2. Who starts them?
3. Is this person a junior? A senior? An equal?
4. Is it a case of personal dislike, or a dislike of his or her work?
Unless you have a very strong position within the company I would be inclined to suspect that you'll have to quit (or be fired). Most workplaces have people who don't like each other. You just have to put up with it, and behave in a professional manner.

A little of personal, but mostly work.

If this is the case, and you can isolate a couple of specific unprovoked incidents, then complain about his behaviour. Ask your co-workers if they can back you up.
Don't, whatever you do, offer an ultimatum to your employers ("he goes or I go"), however, otherwise you may find yourself out of a job.

I'm not sure what balls has to do with it. If your boss is hopeless as well, then it sounds as though it should be he who is going, not you.

This persin is senior to you whether you report to them or not. Your job is to do your job. Part of that is to ignore provocation of all sorts.
Managers simply are not interested in sorting this stuff out. IN general it takes too long to do it, has no return on investment and causes them stress. A manager is employed to work for the company, rendering profits up the chain so that the directors can render those profits to shareholders. People who fight dilute those profits and they are disposed of. Both sides. No warning. Fired and gone, with bad references and bad employment history.
So do not fight, however right you feel

I don't go along with Timmy's altogether too cynical view of managers. OK, there are plenty like that, but there are also plenty who have the sense to realise that generating a good working atmosphere encourages motivation and loyalty, which in turn increases productivity and - ultimately - profits.
Even so, when there's a head-to-head dispute between two staff members of different seniority, both good and bad managers would need to think long and hard before taking the side of the junior staff member. That's simply because there's a serious danger of establishing a precedent and encouraging other complaints from junior staff about more senior staff - and, believe me, that does happen. So the junior member needs to make a strong case that his position is justified, so that the manager can, in turn, justify supporting him.
When you meet on Wednesday - STAY CALM! Don't get loud, as you say you have when arguing with the other guy. Say what it is about his attitude that makes you so upset, but say it calmly and objectively - and, above all, don't insult the other guy to his face at the meeting, even if he insults you. Being calm and restrained is the key to winning the point.
Remember, it still important to try to win, even though you have the promised option of a transfer. It'll help you in the future.
I wish you luck on Wednesday.

Here it is a bit different....... Many retail and most fast food businesses insist on a regular turnover in employees in order to keep the wage load low.
I have been to seminars that teach how to abuse employees in order to get them to quit their jobs.

... but economic principles are pretty absolute. Changing staff to keep wages low inevitably leaves the employer with inexperienced staff; that, in turn, leads to poor customer satisfaction - so the guy down the road with a sensible approach wins out. The trouble with McD & Co is that there aren't enough guys down the road. But their day will come.
Btw, the UK has minimum wage legislation; it's illegal for employers to pay less. Is there anything similar in the US?

Yes we have minimum wage......
It provides just enough income to be rated at sub poverty...
Thus the term "the working poor".
